So I just got done putting together a little movie for the last hour or so then I finally finished.. then all of a sudden it froze on me. I ctrl alt delete and it says that it's still running. Now is there a way that it backs up anything that was on it, so I can exit WMM and open back up and my stuff is still on there? I need to goto sleep soon, so I don't want to redo it all tonight.

Anyways on fixing this problem?

Thanks

-GMS

Well, There is no way to save your work when that starts to crash like that, Also, What version do you have?

I know that v1 is very buggy and unstable.

New account, Joe.

Any time I had crashes with the WMM it was the codecs. Try to reinstall them or download a recent ones.

It ALWAYS freezes up on me. Many a time when making a movie.

If you haven't saved and it freezes, i just turn my PC off by the power button, then when you reboot your PC and boot up WMM, it should be that auto-save thing.

Drop some money on a decent (non - microsoft) movie editing program.

im not big on video editing, but i have some experience. Microsft Software usually sucks.

Just gonna add a suggestion here...

ALWAYS save your work. Everytime you make a change, hit save. It really helps you out when sh*t happens.

I've had the intention to use WMM one time. It ended up freezing so much, I had to use it about five times just to accomplish one thing. Needless to say, I've never used it again.

Fozzy Fozborne

Is Windows Movie Maker fully updated? The older version of WMM used to crash all the time when I tried to use it. With version 2 it's murch more stable and hasn't crashed for me since I've upgraded (and I use it A LOT).

Oh, the upgrade is on Window's Updates.h
