Sound FX not working?

I just installed san andreas on my pc and all the sounds are perfect except the sounds the vehicles are supposed to make and the voices. The cutscenes are still perfect and the ambience and other sounds work fine. I have installed the current drivers for my sound card and still no improvement.

 

My system:

 

Radeon 9700 pro 128mb

soundblaster audigy 2

1gb ram

p4 2.8

 

Any suggestions?

With all sound issues on GTA games, fiddling with the audio hardware acceleration (on the Sound tab after accessing dxdiag through Start -> Run) is always worth a shot. Test out a few different levels of acceleration.
