Songs you'd like to see in GTAIV

Recommended Posts

But to be honest, I'll most likely just play the music from my pc through the 360, as I do with all games.

I've heard the Xbox has a kind of nifty feature: you download your own music onto the HDD and play it from there in some sort of in-built player even during the game. Is that true?

Ah, how about some Motorhead this time around, of course, Anthrax and Biohazard are NYC bands, and there's New York hardcore too, but I think music won't be really specific to NY, as it is fictional... I like juxtiposed music too as some have stated. The ingame humor is missed when you listen to your own tracks I think, but the playlists should be much longer if possible due to the new space

yeah, you can rip the contents of a cd onto your 360 and listen to it whilst playing any game at all. But you can also, by running media centre listen to every MP3 file you have stored on your pc Hard drive, without having to take up any of that much needed disk space, to be honest from what I can see, any PC should be able to do it, it just uses your network cable, or wireless adaptor, to run the music files straight off your computer, but you do now need Windows Media Player 10 (at least) on your PC to use this option.

But yeah, you could always copy the contents of your disk onto the 360 hard drive and use it that way also, it's pretty much the same as it was on the original 360, except it can be used during ANY game, not just selected ones.

Yeah, if you listen to your mp3s you could miss the humor of the in game radio stations, but not of the game, the character speech etc. can still be heard while you're playing, it's just the ingame music that's affected, not the sound effects/speech.

I've just stuck with the tunes chosen, not too bothersome and kinda fun, but I know I'm generalizing a feature I haven't tried as I just got the PC version and am having problems with it, I have to get my driver updated for my ATI card. I found it amusing they have a Nvidia ad in the PC game booklet and that PS3 uses Nvidia chip!

If I had to choose some bands though for in game stations, let's see

Mastodon, Machine Head, Pantera, Metallica, Black Label Society, The Doors, Something involving Mike Patton (Tomahawk, or even better Mr. Bungle), Gojira, In Flames, Iron Maiden, Killswitch Engage, Megadeth, NIN, Rage Against The Machine, Slayer, SYL, White Zombie, Wildhearts.

Loads more I'd like, if even three or four of those bands are in I'll be happy, i think the choice of stations should be huge though, given the huge setting of the game.

Crash Test - Fear Factory

Animosity - Ministry

Worm - Ministry

Filter - American Cliche

Filter - It's Gonna Kill Me

Devildriver - I Dreamed I Died

Hed PE - Feel Good

Hed PE - Bury Me

Mushroomhead - Save Us

Otep - Battle Ready

Skindred - Nobody

GTA desperately needs an actual metal station, no genre better to kill to, but, as long as songs can jus be uploaded from the hard drive, I'd settle for them to bring back the opera station from the GTA III and Liberty stories. SA would have been that much better if you could drive off the top of the mountain in mid-crescendo or whatever rampage_ani.gif .

Funny of you to say that, because in my opinion those bands aren't really the best examples of metal around xmas.gif But I agree about the metal station. And I like Mushroomhead's masks.

True, only a few are actually metal, a couple are actually just tracks that would be sweet to cruise to, (worm + sunset= cruising heaven) but I never chose those tracks to represent proof of GTA needing a metal station, it's just a point to add after a small samplying of whats going on from my hard drive assuming that R* incorporates that feature in 4 (God save them from the glorified fist-shaking they'll get if they don't).

All metal station picks would be more like

Crash Test - Fear Factory

Like Angel Weeping - Kataklysm

La Ley De Plomo - Brujeria

Killchain - Bolt Thrower

Ocean Planet - Gojira

This Is Now - Hatebreed

43 - Mushroomead

Annihilation By The Hands of God - Roadrunner United

Figure #5 - Soilwork

The Alcoholik - Superjoint Ritual

The Blister Exists - Slipknot

Mysterium Coniunctionis - Behemoth
