QwertyAAA's got the right idea. Vehicles in missions, that's what we're after.

 

I hope to God the answer occurs on all platforms. It certainly does every time on my PS2.

Yes.

 

I'm glad it's real, I thought it was just me.

 

• You're told you need to find one of me, but in the end, I turn up anyway.

The pop-up at the start of the mission implies you need to steal a military vehicle, but the Patriot is always leaving the compound when you arrive.

• Don't hang around once you see me.

People start shooting once you're inside.

• I like where I am very much.

Patriots love their country.

• There are a few examples of me, but I in particular am part of the storyline, to an extent.

There are other Patriots around, but I wanted this one in particular.

• I quite often show up when there's trouble.

Six star wanted level.

• I provide a route for you.

It allows you to enter the compound.

• I don't pursue you, although you might expect me to.

Why doesn't it chase you?

• I go the opposite way to you.

It's going out, you're going in.

• If you hold back a bit, I'm just sitting there. Approach, and I start to move.

Stop at the beginning of the road, and the Patriot just waits there.

• I appear in a specific mission.

Up, Up and Away.

• I'm a decidedly official vehicle.

Military.

• Going past me can lead to dooooooom!

You get shot at. A Lot.

• The mission I'm a part of is quite attractive.

The magnet, geddit?

• There's a lucky gift beyond me.

There's a horseshoe in the compound.

• Have your weapons at the ready.

Because you're about to start a fight.
