ajb123644
My XP computer updated it's Video Drivers. Since then almost everything except cutscenes run slow. CJ is cut to pieces before he can turn around. bought a new computer with Vista: Boy do I dislike it. regarding SA. I have 'sheets' of alphabet as background to the dagger selector on the menues. The letters have sparkling picels.some letters not even visible. Triangular outlines on scenes. and game runs poorly. re vista, I have other games which I frequently copy the save files into other folders for replay. Took forever to find the save files, because Vista dosen't want the user to access 'valuable' files for deletiion.., I consider Vista as definately User UNfriendly to experienced users . I got the same vista problem as this guy, anyone know a way to fix it? Um no. What Vista you running, I dont know why but it seems to me that different people have had different problems like for example mine has only crashed once when I was trying to save the game but yeah it just doesnt make sense! What else happens I mean does the game actually crash?

Ring_of_Fire
IMG tool doesnt work on my Home premium Vista tho Because you simply need to use compatibility mode! but i think mods wont... If you have 2nd Edition of SA, mods aint going to work.

Damn, saying that though all they will have to do is rewrite the software so taht it will run on Vista there will probably be new modding software coming out soon as well for Vista so just keep your eyes peeled as they say lol! carcols.dat
Well, guess what everyone; it works! I've been playing for a while and haven't come across a single glitch. No wierd Matrix-style letters, no random crashing, and the frame rate is like XP. This isn't even a "Made for Vista" version.
RiGGed
Well I was able to mod gta:sa with spark. And everything worked perfectly here are my specs: Processor: Intel® Celeron® 2.53 GHz RAM: 510 MB a 32 bit-operating system Not the best, but works.....Ok lol. But I recommend getting a 1Gb-2Gb RAM to run its best and some drivers and cards. Or else Some mods Will lag your game if you see them like some of mines lol

Was the same with me until after several hours of play the game froze while trying to save but I wasnt worried as I was just pissing about before that trying to get stats up so not really bothered but am I glad there have been no other glithes for me like othe rpeople have suggested. And yeah my game was the one which came inside a boook style thing which gave you information on GTA SA.
Dark.
I installed San Andreas on my new laptop a few days ago and the game ran smoothly. I eventually tried adding some mods, including this Bigfoot mod. A few seconds after I entered the marker to begin the "Hunting Bigfoot" mission, the game froze. But other than that, I've had no problems at all.

Awesome, well guys I have had a theory, all those people who have stated the game has crashed try running SA in Administrtor mode, it has had nothing wrong since the last time it froze and I didnt do administrator mode on it so there you go. I went on it for a good two, three hours on friday or saturday and nothing happened put graphics on full and game runs smooth as f*ck. So guys there is a suggestion, report back and tell me what you think of it and whether it works or not!
raitz
i have read all the post replys and just started downloading GTA San Andreas, altrought i have some questions that i didnt find any answere. 1. Will GTA San Andreas v1.0 works in Win Vista? 2. How to turn my comp. to administrator mode ( just incase for any trouble) 3. Does anyone know about MTA working on Vista ? if everything is ok then my comp should play it bcose i dont have very bad stats...
Ring_of_Fire
All you have to do really to get San Andreas to work with Vista is to simply use the compatibility mode. Notice the ReadMe file states nothin' about a Windows OS that has the word "Vista" in it. 1. Will GTA San Andreas v1.0 works in Win Vista? Yes, it is going to work. Might not though since you are currently downloading San Andreas rather than buying an SA DVD disc with 0% corrupted files. We won't be supporting warez if you decide to later post in the troubleshooting forums. 2. How to turn my comp. to administrator mode ( just incase for any trouble) Right-click [.exe] file or shortcut icon -> "Run As..." But I would think if you installed Vista by yourself, you'd already be the admin. 3. Does anyone know about MTA working on Vista ? It is going to work. No reason not to. if everything is ok then my comp should play it bcose i dont have very bad stats... It's called "system specs"! Make sure to at least tell us it for the sake of AJ's thread. Make sure to update drivers and delete [.set] file. BTW, you might want to try out the 1.01 "No More Hot Coffee" patch by COLD later on. Fixes some other problems as well. And a lot of problems can be fixed by downloading the latest Windows Vista updates: windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ Edited July 24, 2007 by Ring_of_Fire

And I think MTA only supports v1.0 of San Andreas - not too sure about v1.01 or v2.0. You probably need to downgrade your [.exe] and your San Andreas files. Use either Windows 98/XP SP2 compatibility mode for heaven's sake. Make sure you run MTA as an admin by right-clicking and selecting "Run as Administrator". but after about 2-4 hours of playing it crashed, and sayd error cant read file blablabla SA-MP only supports v1.0 of San Andreas. Plus, you should expect crashes since the servers are down! Please use MTA:SA from now on. Edited July 25, 2007 by Ring_of_Fire

Umm like I said could be something to do with the version you were running, anyway the mod should fix it so that you can play it on Vista perfectly fine soon. Hidden-Package
GTA: San Andreas plays fine in Windows Vista Home Premium. MTA:SA isn't compatible with Windows Vista regardless of compatibility mode. It think it's because of the anti-cheat. SA-MP works (ugh) except for the constant crashing. Then again, that's always on SA-MP.

Yeah that is a point, I think though that because the mod has been downloaded by so many people it will take time for the creators to actually be able to get it stabalised and sorted out for vista. So delete it. Other factors could be spyware/viruses, or newer applications that were recently installed. Also, more mods could harass the gameplay, I think. but after a month of playing it went slow, and now he changed Visual FX Quality to LOW Not all parts of San Andreas can allow your GPU to achieve a constant framerate. I say he fooled around in the Display options menu, or in Catalyst/Forceware.

I had yesterday SA repeatedly not responding on my pc and it really bugged me but the first time it crashed I said send error reporting and I think that the two programs were conflicting. So my advice is dont run any other applications while sending an error report as it will use up your internet connection a lot and also it takes ages to send, well say 15 mins or so I dont know really.
