Whats wrong with the textures?

Recommended Posts

Hi, i made an house in Alias Maya 7.0 and exported it to Max and then to Gta San andreas and it worked perfectly after i scaled down a texture that were 1024x1024 to 512x512..

And now when i added more textures to the model two that is 512x512 and one that is 64x128 (this one is from the San andreas)

My model gets invisible :S how can it get invisible i do EXACTLY as i did before when the model worked what can be wrong with the textures? i have tried to have them in PNG, TGA and BMP format before i add them to TXD workshop but nothing works sad.gif

yes, I do exactly like this:

1 Make a model in Alias Maya 7 then assign to new material and adds the texture i want then i make the texture fit the model.

2 Exports the model as *.obj

3 imports the *.obj file in Autodesk 3ds max 8 and exports it as a dff then i make the col file with PAVEMENT_f*ckED.

4 adds the textures to a *.txd file and compresses all images and dont use alpha (with TXD workshop 4.5)

5 adds the model, txd and col to the gta3.img

hehe yes about 100 times or something xD but just because you said so i gave it one more chance tounge.gif and then it worked! biggrin.gif ahha

but this time i first assigned the WHOLE model to a texture and then added other textures to the part of the model that shouldn't be grass tounge.gif

before did i just start with the roads and soo on and at the end i filled out the parts that didnt have any texture

thx everyone <3

Edit: hehe i got some col problems now but they are easy to fix smile.gif i hope..tounge.gif

i am going to assume you're using TXD Workshop to make your TXD's.

for some of us this is a well known issue with TXD Workshop.

there is however i workaround for the issue..............

decompress all textures then save as gta3 txd then save as VC txd then re-compress all textures and save as SA txd.

i had lots of invisible txd problems while converting the Myriad Islands CMP mod over to SA from VC and this was the most effective way to combat the issue, sometimes you need to do the workaround twice tho.

good luck.

PS. alternatively i would suggest using G-Txd by REspawn wink.gif
