I thought the DLC was after the trilogy was out?

I'm going to be really pissed if that happens to be the case. At least put in some major city/planet with a handful of new quests, like TEoS said.

Okay, I just completed it. Went through with finishing off those last assignments as well, which were thankfully a bit more interesting than the past few I'd been doing.

I don't see why some people didn't like the ending. It finishes this story off and leads into the next game nicely, I thought. And the storyline was amazing - there was some really tough choices to make throughout it.

I doubt that's true about the DLC thing. Surely they wouldn't leave it until after the trilogy to release content...

Just out of curiousity, does anybody know of a site/Wiki that has all available info of the planets, races, weapons, history, etc. of the game? I'd like to read up on everything, but none of my current saves has everything unlocked.

I think this'll do the trick.

cookie.gif 's for you, good sir.

EDIT: Just picked up the Revelation book, and god damn. This is one bad-ass book.

Heh. I decided to restart.

The story all seems more straight-forward now. This time though, I'm planning on doing the side quests as well.

Just some little information for you Mass Effect-ers.

There going to be some downloadable content being released for the game. Titled 'Bring Down the Sky' it will be released to Xbox LIVE Marketplace on Monday, March 10 at 2 a.m. PDT, and will be available for 400 MS points. This is the first in a series of planned downloadable content that further expands the “Mass Effect” universe and continues the adventures of Commander Shepard and the Normandy crew.

First in a series of planned DLC packs, so there's atleast more than one. 'Bring Down the Sky' contains approximately 90 minutes of heart-pounding action and a new Achievement worth 50 Gamerscore points.

To date, more than 1.6 million gamers have explored the engaging sci-fi universe of “Mass Effect.” Beginning on March 10, fans everywhere will be able to expand the “Mass Effect” experience with the release of the first ever downloadable content for the award-winning saga.

“Bring Down the Sky” includes a new uncharted world that introduces the notorious and feared alien race of the Batarians. A Batarian extremist group has hijacked a mobile asteroid station in the Asgard system, setting it on a collision course with the nearby colony world of Terra Nova. Only Commander Shepard can save the millions of innocent civilians before the asteroid completes its deadly descent.

I just finished this game and I thought it was f*cking amazing. Am I the only one who thought it was really THAT good. I mean I definitely thought it was game of the year...hell, maybe even game of the last THREE+ years. dontgetit.gif

Man those Batarians are ugly.

user posted image

They look tougher than what the novel described. I wonder if they'll be added to other places like the Citadel, but I doubt that since they tend to keep to themselves out in the Skyllian Verge (I sound nerdy, and I like it).

I agree it should've been a more serious contender for GOTY, just as good as BioShock and CoD4.

Is the DLC to take place after the main storyline of the game is completed? If I'm only partially done could I download it and still play that mission?

It'd have to. Once you beat the game you start over.

Yeah that's one thing I was a bit disappointed about...because I deliberately left some of the side missions so I could do them later...but I wasn't able to. sad.gif

Ronmar The Only
Buying this today, any tips for a new player?

Go and do the mission on the Moon as soon as you can. Also, if you wish to get the achievements, your party members have to be with you the entire time of the game basically (even through all the side quest) to get those achievements.

This game is amazing, you feel as if you really are Shepard. Especially on Virmere (sp.) when deciding about wrex now that was badass.

Well, it's finally been confirmed; Mass Effect coming to the PC in May

Optimized for the PC, Mass Effect for the PC incorporates the following features:

* Optimized controls designed specifically for the PC.

* High resolution visuals - Mass Effect for the PC features highly detailed textures, characters and environments.

* Fully customizable controls - PC gamers can re-map the control scheme any way they like.

* Run & Gun Control - Players can assign biotic powers or skills to 'hot keys' allowing them to play Mass Effect with a heavier focus on action.

* New decryption mini-game.

* New inventory screen GUI and functionality - The enhanced inventory system makes it easier for players to equip and modify their weapons and armor.

Honestly, who didn't see that coming. tounge.gif

I'm on my second playthrough. I was wondering though, I switched my difficulty to Veteran at the very beginning of the game when I started. I'm playing with my original character. Will I unlock Hardcore difficulty? Or do I have to start a completely new game on Veteran to do that? dontgetit.gif

If you've completed the game once on normal, you've already unlocked Hardcore difficulty; No need to go through on veteran if you've already done normal. Or did you go through first on casual? In that case, you should be alright as long as you changed the difficulty as soon as you could.

On a related note: If you change the difficulty to hardcore right at the start with a completed character, you can keep going and still unlock the achievement and Insanity difficulty. However you must make a new character for insanity if you want the achievement.

Hmm, I guess I went through the first time on Casual. That's strange. I thought I selected normal. Oh well. Thanks for the info! smile.gif

Looks like I'll have to buy some damned points now.

So far the reviews have been good from the Bioware geeks.

Are there any cool futuristic cities in this game? Like Taris, Telos, Nar Shadaa, Coruscant, that sorta stuff?

the Citadel, the main hub for the game, essentially serves as what you're asking for. Extremely high-tech structure with lots of visual goodies...like Citadel Station in KOTOR2 on steroids.
