Deuce Deuce
Worth buying? I played Oblivion for one hour, and turned the xbox off because I hated it. This is definitely a game for you if you enjoy role-playing games. I've been too busy with CoD4 online and as a result haven't had much time to play this, think I'll give it another bash later on. I'm only a few hours into it. My only problem with it is the unloaded textures as you open up one of your saves, and the slight lagging in places. But that hardly negates the awesomeness of this game! For all those debating whether to get it... GET IT.
original gangster
Worth buying? I played Oblivion for one hour, and turned the xbox off because I hated it. Depends what you hated Oblivion for, really. If you hated it because it was pretty shallow when it comes to being an RPG, you'll probably like Mass Effect. If you don't like RPGs of any kind then, well, you're not going to like Mass Effect.
Remix
I liked WoW and Runescape in it's day, but found the people to annoying to continue. But they're completely different games.
Deuce Deuce
I'm stuck in Noveria, took the Mako out after getting a pass, and am stuck at the end where I can't get out and a turret firing at me. Any ideas?
Voodoo
I'm stuck in Noveria, took the Mako out after getting a pass, and am stuck at the end where I can't get out and a turret firing at me. Any ideas? Are you talking about that last turret when you reach Peak 15? If so, turn the Mako sideways (perpendicular) to the turret and peak around the corner repeatedly while taking potshots at it with the cannon. It will die eventually. If you're a soldier you can jump out, hit immunity and use overkill/marksman/carnage to kill the turret while your tech member hits it with tech mines. If you're an engineer, same deal but in reverse. Those turrets are much easier to avoid on foot. Are you saying that you can't get out of the Mako? Spidey.
How do you get Wrex's armor quest? I played through the game about twice already and still haven't seen any mention of it.
Voodoo
You've got to go talk to him down on the engineering deck of the Normandy. The subject will come up eventually and you'll get a journal entry for it.
jaymig53
Just got this game yesterday, with my new 360. Man, this game rocks! But I just have a few questions, like when do you start getting proper money, I cant buy anything. And what are these renegade points, or whatever they are called. The subject will come up eventually and you'll get a journal entry for it. Yeah i've done that twice though.... I found out that its during the conversation about his homeworld and how he tried to bring everyone together but failed. But i've never seen the dialog option that brings up the quest for his armor. jaymig53
I really need help! I've just become a spectre, and i'm in the Normandy, but I cant go anywhere. I have looked at the big map, but I can only select the city i'm already in. I have done everything i am supposed to do, I looked in my journal, and it just tells me to travel to another planet. What should I do?

Yeah I don't recall ever talking to Wrex about this armor and then getting a journal entry about it. I just went and landed on a planet and found it, forgot what the planet was called though. jaymig53: Go to C-Sec, there's an elevator in the middle that will take you to where the Normandy is. I don't think it's available until after you've done a couple of the primary missions. It's there, though. I've hit it on each of my four playthroughs. Best way to make sure you get all of the squad missions is to run around and talk to everyone on the Normandy after each primary mission. Try to start more than one conversation with them each time in order to exhaust all of the dialog available.

Thanks, I didn't know you had to press it multiple times to get a full view. Ha, and I was getting all worried that my game was broken. Silly me. Yeah, i found out the trick is that you have to ask about his Family in the investigate branch of the dialog tree after he talks about it. He doesn't bring it up on his own. jaymig53
I just finished the game, and I must say I was a bit dissapointed. And nearlly all the last missions, kind of sucked. I mean all you did was going around shooting geth all the time.

jaymig53
You've done every mission? Even the side missions? and got all Paragon/ Renegade points? I did all of the main missions. But I didn't do every side mission, at first I enjoyed the side missions, but then later on I got to focused on the main storyline, to car about some douchebag who has a problem. And those renegade and paragon point things, I never really concentrated about. But I'm not saying it's a bad game, it's great. Just 'could have been a better finish is all. Maybe it's just me, I was expecting an epic ending, since most of the story, was epic.
Voodoo
I was satisfied with the epicness. I didn't feel nearly as let down as I have after some of the other games I've played recently. What more do you want from a game?
original gangster
Anyone else find most the assignments outside of the Citadel to be very... bland? I mean, while you're in the Citadel near the start of the game, the side quests you get are great. You start to expect the same level of quality for all those other side missions on different planets, but they all turn out to be the same - go to planet, drive to base, enter and kill enemies there within a map the same shape as every other base, do decryption game on something to complete assignment. It's just that with slight variations in places, which is disappointing. I don't know if I can be bothered to finish off all the other assignments. Might just get on with the Main storyline instead, which is great I have to say.

They all have an anomaly to check on, probe droid wreckage, some random wildlife, and an underground base. The base is always full of guys just standing around, like all they have to do with their lives is wait for YOU to show up on some desolate planet and shoot you with their pistol. No rhyme or reason for them being there in some cases. Silly. I haven't played enough of the main storyline to know what it's like. I really wish there was more than one major city in the game. I figured they'd have put a little more on some of those planets. I mean for f*ck's sake, some of those worlds are huuuge and have little more than some trinkets and low level enemies. What a waste of space. Reminds me of VC/SA's large expanses of blank warehouses void of power-ups that are just filler to make the maps bigger. TEoS
I think a capital city for each race or at least the council races would have been cool. I think the reason why there's only one though is because the Citadel needs to be the center of everything in order for that major plot thing to work. Oh well, maybe we'll get something cool in the eventual DLC.

By the end of the game, I just gave up on the side misions, and just went straight for the main storyline. And I think by the end of the game even the main storyline was very repetitive. It was just, go there, kill 100 geth and come back. And then there would allways be complications, and suddenly you have to kill 200 geth. The story too was just a bit boring after awhile. All this about... well I don't wanna spoil it, but the story just was a bit blah in the end, I think. The only reason that I played the last few missions was because I wanted to . And, I had heard that the ending was epic (wich it wasn't IMO).
