NickB
On sunday night i was in blockbuster looking for SOMETHING to rent,RE4 was out,so i saw LCS standing there on the shelf so id thought id give it a whirl. got home fired up ye old PS2,covered in dust i might add. logo's go past, and the intro music starts up,i skipped it because i watched every other one for every other GTA game. and it was LC so nothing new. the introduction to the story came up......the graphics amazed me.......*record squeeches* hold on! did i say amaze? i meant HORRIFIED ME. it was like GTA 3 with a new coat of paint....a sh*tty one at that. so the mission starts,go to the safe house down the road? no prob,i know the map of portland like the back of my hand. seriously. i was trying to figure out the radio,as i thought most of the controls had been ported over from SA. nope,GTA3 controls are back......dammit. the stats in the top right of the screen looked awfully squashed. and toni looked exactly like claude with different hair and different coloured clothes! on a lighter note, some of the cars actually looked better, while some, looked exactly like a HOT SLOPPY sh*t. im barley on the 4th mission, and i think this game sucks. if youre thinking of getting this game,i highly recommend you go for something else. sorry rockstar,no cookie for you. try harder next time
saintdave
Of course your entitled to your opinion and if you don’t rate LCS that’s also fine but many would offer a different opinion on this game. LCS in terms of colouring was meant to look a bit cleaner and brighter than GTA 3, it is set 3 years prior to it basically indicating that the pollution levels hadn’t taken their toll on the city at that time. I assume your using the PS2 version? I’m not sure how or why but the controls in LCS were the same as SA for me but you can configure them in the pause menu so this could solve that. Toni and other peds are not based on the models from GTA 3, they are built over models from VC which look more realistic and have better mobility functions. Vehicles also benefit from this which is why many look a lot better than the ones in GTA 3. With this game you have to bare in mind it's VC built over GTA 3, most of the city is the same but key locations have differences, the storyline is on par with many previous GTA's and although the missions can vary from easy and short to long and tricky, the game was intended for PSP use above all, the PS2 version is just a port. The game is bargain priced too so many people will get it and I cant recommend it enough. I feel it adds to the whole storyline in the GTA universe perfectly and it allows you to do many things that you couldn’t in GTA 3 (ride bikes, run with heavy weapons, etc). Tommy Dickfingers
I really enjoyed LCS. I know it's the same city as GTA III, but that appealed to me also. I love Liberty City, and Liberty City Stories is a very good game and excellent value for money. LCS

oipolloi
For the PSP it's a great acheivement, but i agree that playing SA on the PS2 and then popping this in might be a bit of a culture shock. If you ask me though i rate it more than SA (insert bullsh*t about how you can have planes therefore SA is better from barely-literate scum here) because it's got the all important fun factor. Bikes and LC's stunt potential where made for each other... just makes you wonder why they didnt delay GTA3 a bit longer to get bikes in that
natbat1991
Looking in the LCS booklet the 'Liberty Tree' aperntly Bikes killed too many people and were thus banned from liberty city thats y there in LCS and not GTAIII! lol!
