Jay-d
And in all honesty, this is my second favourite GTA, Vic is by far my favourite protagonist. I can't help but feel that if the same amount of money, energy, and time was put into this as one of the three original ps2 releases, it would have been by far my favourite. Good script, good radio, good missions, and a return to form imho after the dissapointing SA and LCS. That's all. Justin
I agree. I'm only 20% through VCS (for a lack of time to play it), yet it exceeds San Andreas in my opinion. Vice City - the original - is the clear leader in my mind, but I'd have to put VCS up there in second. I do have a liking of the 80s, which might partially explain this, but I found SA to be severely disappointing. Viva la Vice City! Tommy Dickfingers
I finished the main story last night...haven't fallen in love with the game to be honest with you. It's OK, that's all. They have been very lazy with certain aspects, like the empire building for example. They didn't put much thought or effort into it in my opinion. The same mission over and over 15 times to increase your respect level, I think they should have expanded on that and gave it more variety. My favourite list remains: GTA Vice City GTA III GTA San Andreas GTA Liberty City Stories GTA Vice City Stories Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/272300-ok-so-i-just-finished-it/#findComment-4140909 Share on other sites
thelegendaryX
I can't choose favourites, generally speaking, because I consider different games my favourite in different ways. Know what I mean? What I liked most about VCS: The ability to construct and somewhat decide where your businesses go, the jetski, the ultra-challenging or just plain fun side-missions (Beach Patrol, especially), the fact that you can actually swim in Vice City's waters (it'd be a sin for them to deny us that), and the bikes being somewhat easier to stay on. What I favoured most in other games: The ability to dive, the opportunity to build up skills (Driving, cycling, bike, etc.), the girlfriends!, the ACTUAL stand-up protagonists, flying jets, the wide array of assets in VC, and I'm sorry but I prefer ALL radio compilations more than this one. That's not to say this one's bad; it's awesome! It's just that the others are more awesome, IMO. Even though Tommy couldn't swim or ride a bike as well as Vic, his personality is my fave. I actually have a fondness for GTA III as well. This is probably mostly for sentimental reasons (it being the first I ever played). But there's a dark, homy feel to it and always has been. I still load III from time to time just to cruise around Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/272300-ok-so-i-just-finished-it/#findComment-4141748 Share on other sites
XxDarkxPsychicxX
I'm 95% 100% through the game and I have to agree with you, VCS is currently one of my favorites as well. I'd say it's in second place, with GTAIII being first. The music in this Vice City is as amazing as ever, while the graphics aren't bad at all. In my opinion, VCS definitely beats SA by a long shot. Edit: Just achieved 100%. TenaciousD.
I've finised VCS story and quite honestly I havn't touched it since December. Theres nothing motivating me to get 100% or even play after finishing the story. Rashon.
It's hard for me to rate Vice City Stories somewhere because it's so good, in my opinion, I could even put it over San Andreas. No GTA game was a disappointment for me. I just don't play some as often as most. Here's my list. Vice City - 9.7 San Andreas - 9.3 GTA III - 9.1 Vice City Stories - 8.9 Liberty City Stories - 8.5 Sometimes I feel like VCS should be second or third. Adam Jensen
San Andreas is my favourite GTA. CJ`s character if far more developed into real personality than any other GTA protagonist before. It`s not only becouse of many, many cut scenes and dialogs, but even when he`s driving, falling, fighting, runnig from cops etc.... he always has something to say. And other than that San Andreas has that kind of story, if it`s a movie it would won an Oscar for best story, script etc.... I beated San Andreas 11 times, first time 100% mainly becouse of the story. I still like to play it. Sometime i load Vice City and beat it from time to time. I don`t think i`ll play LCS or VCS anymore now when i finished it. I did like one thing very much on LCS about Tony`s personality. I dont remember mission name, but Tony said something like this in a middle of a misson when he saw the tenk> What the f*ck? I can`t belive this. I don`t remember any other character was suprised like that in a middle of a mission when they saw something unusual, exept CJ maybe. Tommy Verzetti was suprised in cut scene in mission when u kill Diaz, when Lance gives u M4, but that was cut scene, they r suposed to be like movies. I don`t usually write this long but tis was a must. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/272300-ok-so-i-just-finished-it/#findComment-4144764 Share on other sites
