epoxi
Hi, I was just wondering, how can I access the bumpers etc. used by Wheel Arch Angels? The reason for this is I would like to overlay the Wheel Arch Angels mods with certain vehicles to see if the parts align. Obviously, if the bumper aligns with the car, then I will modify carmods.dat to allow the addition of the bumper. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated, and I hope to release my carmods.dat once finished (if it's any good). Please leave your comments because this 'trial and error' method is killing me. P.S. Which would be the best program to mix the .dffs? (Other than ZModeler because I can't get my hands on a registered version) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/272049-what-dff-files/ Share on other sites
92F
All acsessory parts are located in the gta.img. Theres also a good chance that you'd be wasting your time trying to check if any parts line up with other cars, other than the ones they were designed for. Chances are they wont align with any other vehicles. You could try using Max to align the parts, but I'm pretty sure you have to pay for it. epoxi
I know plenty of parts to line up, for example: Flash's front bumper on Manana Flash's rear bumper on Club Elegy's front bumper on Turismo Most Savanna parts on Voodoo Anyway, I was looking more specifically where can I find the parts referred to by carmods.dat within gta.img? Is each part embedded into Sultan.dff, Jester.dff etc. or are the mods in their own .dff? 92F
I think they all have their own seperate .dff's, but I cant check as I don't have SA installed . As to having random cars having other random parts align, like flash's rear bumper on the club. Is there really much point just having only the rear bumper line up? mrmunky
They're all listed by name in the carmods.dat as the mods available for each car and those names correspond directly to the names of the .dffs for the parts in gta3.img (separate .dffs for each part, not contained within the car model), so they're pretty easy to find! I use IMG Tool 2.0 and they're listed right at the start of the file in that, but you can always search by pressing F3 or just taking a look...
