difiCa
Specs: * Windows XP SP2 * ATI Radeon X300 256MB * AMD Athlon 64 3700 * 512MB RAM * SA version 1 So, when i click the icon for SA, which i've modded to run the windowed mod exe, the game loads, the intro videos play, but when the first menu comes up, the game crashes with an error screen. I recently installed some tunable car mods with parts and the Akina drift hill, if you need that info. Justin
I recently installed some tunable car mods with parts and the Akina drift hill, if you need that info. Did it work before modding? If so, you know what to do... Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/271909-sa-crashes-in-menu/#findComment-4133543 Share on other sites
TheTank
well, when you install the car mods, and screw something, the game usually crashes when you have downloaded the save game file/started a new game, or if it doesn't, it crashes if you spawn it into your garage with some kind of tool and try to open the garage door. I know that, but my game crashes instantly when the New Game-Options-Quit menu comes up. difiCa
what kind of files do you need to install with that Akina thing? Just the gta.dat and put a folder in the maps folder of the data folder. I don't think it's the Akina though, since i ran the game once after i installed it, it ran fine. difiCa
umm... what about there where you can see the clock and date and other stuff. what do you have there did you get it? AntiVir, Logitech Profiler, SpyBot S&D, Logitech Video and QuickTime. Others are Windows icons like the mouse settings and printer settings. All of these files have been there before the crashing started. I guess i'll just try to revert the latest car mod i installed, since i suppose that's causing the problem, because there isn't any other thing that could be wrong with it. I'll report back with the results once i've done that. EDIT: Reloaded every backup i have, no good, still crashes. I think it's the time for the tenth reinstall. PLPynton
get some monitoring tool, that lets you see all file system activity in real-time. apply filter for gta_sa.exe and you will know what makes your game crash. ie this one Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/271909-sa-crashes-in-menu/#findComment-4134283 Share on other sites
