@OptimumPx: I don't understand, Could you explain a bit more?

Well, when they built Grand Central Terminal they put in right in the middle of Park Avenue so they made the street go up and around the building.

In this pic you can see the middle section of Park Avenue lifting up to meet Grand Central.

In this (very old!) pic you can see how Park Avenue then goes around Grand Central on both sides.

This continues around the Metlife Building until Park Avenue reaches the Helmsley Building. Park Avenue more or less goes through the Helmsley Building to reconnect with the surface streets on the other side (the two black arches).

Do you see it now?

It goes up and around Grand Central and the Metlife Building then through the Helmsley Building and back out the other side.

Isn't this the Helmsley Building?

You can clearly see the archway underneath.

It's Manhattan Municipal Building:

They just looked similar. I try to focus on broker/dukes and want the rest of the boroughs to unveil as I play the game.

I think it is exactly Municipal building replica

i figured out some stuff with the neighborhoods... it's not 100% accurate but based off of educated guesses and research....

dude you cant post images of the leaked map, even if your trying to figure out what it says on it.....

if that is true then i am sorry but it seems rather odd if thatrs the case confused.gif

i have something i've been working on... but i'm not sure if it's cool to post it or not. Like a lot of the maps in the Mapping Liberty City thread it borrows heavily from the leaked maps. I took the small map of the neighborhoods where you couldn't make out the names and I blew it up, did some research, and I think I've successfully figured out what quite a few of them are. I originally did just because it has been a topic of personal interest for me new yorker, knowing that the forum had asked that no mention of the leaked maps be made... but now that i've seen what has been posted in that thread I was thinking maybe it would be ok to put there. Here is a link to what I've come up with, please let me know your stance on the matter.

liberty neighborhoods

I'd say definitely put it there. It looks like you have a first hand knowledge of what goes where, so it would be very valuable.

also keep in mind that every map that has been posted here since the leaks has been based off of those leaks...

OptimumPx: I don't think this is the case in GTAIV. If you look at this screencapture from the last trailer, you can see that the road around the Grand Central Terminal and GetaLife building is on the same level as other roads:

Also, I have spotted some mistakes in Grand Theft Auto Dude's map - take a look at this and compare it with the subway map photo, where are the streets visible more easily. I marked missing streets with red and the nonexisting ones with purple:

Thanks for that rasomaso, I'm fixing it now.

Nice, I've been mentally trying to put names to different neighborhoods as well. None of these are %100 obviously because it's almost impossible to read but I think I can guess the names of some more places.

The neighborhood directly north of Alderney City is Leftwood, based on the screenshot of Alderney in the 'History of Liberty City' thing.

The neighborhood directly west from Chase Point is South Bohan.

The neighborhood west of Meadows Park in Dukes is Steinway.

The neighborhood on the Dukes waterfront across from Colony Island is BOABO based on the fact that this area IS beneath the Algonguin Bridge Overpass, and although it's unreadable, it does look like a five-letter acronym with all capital letters...

This is more of a guess, but the area east of Outlook Park could be South Slopes, based on the screen of the subway reading "Sundance St. South Slopes", also, there's an area of Brooklyn called Park Slopes next to Prospect Park (which Outlook Park is very likely based on)

Another random guess, but the area south of what I assume is Steinway says 'East Island City'. There's an area of Queens called Long Island City that would correspond correctly with the geography, and we know from various screens that the landmass which comprises of Dukes and Broker is called East Island and/or East Borough.

As for neighborhoods in Algonquin, from what I can vaguely read/guess is that the big area south of Middle Park is simply called Star Junction, west of Chinatown is 'City Hall', and west of that is 'Castle Gardens City', based off of Battery Park City. The small area joined with Little Italy is Suffolk, based on the subway stop named Suffolk in that area, also this is geographically where Soho would be, and the map describes Suffolk as a trendy shopping area. The northernmost point in Algonquin says Northwood, hense the Northwood Heights Bridge. South of that facing Alderney is North Holland, as seen in several early screens. I'm also guessing there's a 'Middle Park West' and 'Middle Park East', and that there's a neighborhood called Easton corresponding with where the Easton Central Terminal is.

Anyways... I think this is all right but it might be completely wrong. just putting it out there.
