That's amazing, but based on feature density comparison I think the area of your map would only be a little more than 1/6 of San Andreas and I'll be disappointed if Liberty City is that small, no matter how much detail it has. San Andreas was 6x6 kilometers* and I think Liberty City will be 4x4 or 5x5. If it gets down to 3x3 (your map is about 2.5x2.5) even with no countryside or water there wouldn't be enough room for as many city streets as San Andreas had.

 

(*Note: an old Wikipedia edit claiming San Andreas was 17 square miles was wrong. I know because I'm the one who put it in wikipedia and I was wrong. The correct 6x6 km size of San Andreas was stated by Rockstar in this interview and I've fixed my wikipedia mistake. Sadly, other sites have copied my mistake. Wikipedia is not reliable!)

I agree. A well-made map indeed, but horrible to see in game. Looks like GTA III, which would be bad.

This picture was taken from third trailer (00:59) and in upper right corner on the sign it writes 'Algonquin' what means that sign is in Alderney (New Jersey). I hope it helps someway

hay guys i gota be quiot about this but i cant help it,my dad's bro work's for R* and he sent me the new liberty city map (sorry for no image) but it kinda looks like the map by gta4 dude.here's a discription: the areas are all about the same size just in diffrent shapes,like one island is long (very) and another is very roundish but with dents in it like there can't be a volcano that shapes an island exactly round,but enough of my talking if you want the REAL GTA4 LIBERTY CITY MAP then email me at [email protected] otherwise i hope you find this interesting and by the way email me and ill also send you the final real gta3 mod,my own player skins for gta3. (final real gta3 mod includes: all new cars (every car but 2-4 are real life cars) all buildings are changed to real stores (like mcdonalds, starbucks,shell petrol stations etc) new atractions:statue of liberty (on a new island next to portland/staunton called liberty island) the drains in the water (remember they cut you of from sailing around shoreside vale) are now gone,new loading, game start screens,game paused screens +much more. all and all this mod is great, I give it 10/10 because it offers lots of stuff plus it makes you wana start a new game and finish all over again because of all the new stuff you can use (comes with install instructions). thanks and have a nice day.

Since the map looks like GTA IV Dude's map, then isn't he the one who should be working for Rockstar instead of that guy's father's brother or whatever?

 

BTW, that new guy is advertising his modifications. Worth reporting?

On the first picture there is some kind of connection between those two buildings, but on the other picture that is gone. Am I right or those are completely different buildings (but I think they are not).

Ya, they've made tons of changes to Liberty City in the different builds we've seen so far.

 

For example there is a building next to the games version of the World Financial Center. (WFC=Blue Building=Red)

 

But look back in trailer #2....the building didn't exist yet!

 

Just goes to show that areas we might think we know in the game...might not be that way when it comes out.

No. They're just glitches. The Black Hawk helicopter scene in tailer 2 is a good example, buildings still pop up from nowhere and disappear.

I don't think so...cause it's also not in this screenshot either.

 

In fact so far the only time we've ever seen this building is in the 2nd trailer. It's new.

I gotta tell some one (well all of you will do) jack tomson (i dont think i spelled he's name correctly) but he took Rockstar Games to court to get one of the first missions of GTA4 removed because he thought it was a refrence to how much Rockstar hated him. the objective of the so called "controvershal mission about him" was to kill your layer for some reason (i cant remember why though), BUT THIS IS 100% TRUE. by the way if you have an ipod and like the music in canis canem edit then put in the search bar canis canem edit and the whole complete album (music by shawn lee by the way) on sale for $16.95.
