how do you walk?

Nope, not possible with keyboard. If you're dead set on walking on PC, I suppose you could try plugging in an analogue gamepad and changing VC's controller configuration to Classic (rather than the default Standard), but this still may not work and you might find it too drastic a change for such a simple reward.

I thought "walking" really means that you don't hold down the [sHIFT] key to run?

 

Anyways... some keyboard driver softwares allow you to change the repeat rate of keys in games, unlike the Windows default one in Control Panel which only works throughout Windows and doesn't affect games that doesn't come with such feature itself.

 

 

How to Walk in Vice City (PC keyboard)

 

 

Simple! All you have to do is to press the [uP] arrow key once and press F1 immediately. Tommy will be paused; now move him slightly again and press on F1 once more. Tommy will be walking. You could also hold down the [uP] arrow key to walk faster, and press on F1 at the same time and you'll be walking without touching anything on your keyboard!  Helpful if you are tired of holding onto 'em keys.

This is the main reason why Vice City's F1-Replay effect really needs fixing up.

No, you press the Walk key to walk. Not everybody uses default. For example, on my SA, it's Shift. While crouching in SA, you can engage in a more hurried walk, which still counts as a stealth move in terms of being heard by those around you.

 

Referring to keys by their function and not the button YOU push not only provides for those who customize their setup, but also makes whatever it is you're saying cross-platform as well.

dudes, buying a gamepad isn't that hard with that you can auto-aim and walk... and 1.st person look when standing

Auto aim means less skill and means you move a LOT slower than using your mouse.

Oh, right. I overlooked the fact that the controller input still works regardless of VC's settings.

 

That'd be a bitch, though - using the controller to walk while having the basis of the control system tied to the standard keyboard configuration.
