Wierd GTA2 problem

Recommended Posts

I downloaded the free GTA2 yesterday and installed it without any problems (despite the amazingly inaccurate readme file), but once I started running it, I ran into problems. almost none of the graphical settings changes I make in GTA2 Manager seem to take except the frame limiter option play movie/exploding scores options. It will not run in windowed mode (at either 16 or 32 bit color), no matter what resolution I choose, it always defaults to 640 X 480 and the "Special Recognition" function (whatever the hell that is) seems to do nothing. When I launch the game, all the menu screens flicker and jump, as if the refresh rate on my monitor is way off, but once I find my way through the menus that I can barely read, the game itself runs fine. Anybody got any idea whats going on?

My Specs:

Win XP Home SP2

P4 2 GHz

1 GB RAM

Intel D865PERC mobo (with latest BIOS)

GeForce FX 5200 256MB (93.71 drivers)

Audigy LS (5.12.1.512 drivers)

DX 9.0c with latest updates

I can't help you there, but I can't run it in a window either...

To run it on a window, Go to GTA2 Mananger, Choose "Windowed" But leave the Screen Resuluation to 640 x 840 or whatever it is and run gta2, it should be in a windowed. it worked for me,

and for the topic, I can't help you either
