Game speed bug?

When I play the game often speeds up (CJ runs really fast, the clock in the corner rolls round way too quickly etc).

Anyone else had this?

 

I'm running a dual core AMD processor which i suspect may have something to do with it?

 

I've tried changing the various settings (including frame limiter on/off and changing screen res and gfx quality) but nothing seems to change it?

 

I'm also having problems trying to patch to 1.01. I get an error message:

 

"Old file not found, however a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match"

well, it sounds like a frame rate problem. eithger your system is too fast or too slow, but if you're running a processor like that, i'd say it's probally too fast. one thing you can do to fix this is go into your advanced display settings in the game and turn on the frame limiter option if it's off. and depending on how much you've changed the other settings, you might increase them a little bit, unless they're already tuned to your system.

 

the frame limiter SHOULD fix this, if not increase the settings.

Ok, for anyone that comes accross this same problem this is the fix I found

 

Dual Core Optimiser

 

It should fix any issues with game's timings being messed up by having a dual core processor.

 

I've still not managed to find anything on the patching problem though

So should Windows 98 compatibility mode and/or setting the process affinity to a single core only.

Yeh the set affinity works too but it gets annoying to have to alt-tab out everytime
