Xbox Live vs Playstation Network

Recommended Posts

At this point in time, i would say Xobx Live, but only becuase it's a pay-2-play service, meaning more can be done with it, as compared to a free service such as PSN. Xbox Live also has more users, meaning it's purpose; online games can allow for a better online experience with a bigger online community.

Oh, and Aston Villa rule! Especially in Sutton Coldfield where i come from. icon14.gif

Xbox live is much better, no question.

all psn is is online gaming and the psn store.

xbox live has a buddy list independant of games. you can invite anybody in your list to the game you are playing, check what game your friends are playing, and join them. you can chat with friends whho are playing a different game while you are playing your game.

then there is acheivements. you can see how well your friend or opponent has done in a game. if somebody says they beat gears of war on the hardest difficulty, you can check their profile to see if its true.

xbox live is still miles ahead of PSN.

Small world! I'm from Solihull.

I've got my heart set on the Xbox 360, and I'm getting it mostly for GTA IV and online gaming.

I say 360 out of what I have seen. I would say comparing them again after PS Home is released would be a good idea though. I really think PS Home will change online gaming for the better. Of coarse, maybe it will fail miserably, but time will tell. A lot of people are excited about this.
Live definitely takes the win here. With chat, buddy lists, smooth online gaming, and broadband only, your guaranteed a smooth game. Also, Xbox Live will be available on Windows Vista, where you can already use your Live account on there. Plus, I just cannot wait for the cross-platform gaming. But keep in mind the Playstation Network is very young, and for all you know they could start charging a fee 6 months from now to try and better their network. But for now, Live takes the cake.
What I don't get is that M$ and Sony are tagging on all of these features, I don't need to chat off a 360 or PS3, I might want to browse the net now and again, and play games online, but Chatting? Leave that to Computers IMO

That's why the wii is handy bit f*cked up that you need friend codes though. I would say live is better till i get a ps3 lol.

they stated that the playstation network will be free and when Home is released it will be free but with game companies supporting Home network can charge to download arcade games or certain things like that but the Network is completely free!!

That was quite the sentence! ^

XBL is very simple and everything you need. The first day I booted up my 360 I was able to make an account and download a ton of demos without any problems or confusion. I haven't seen what the PS3 has to offer yet, though.
