i can finish the rail shooting part fairly easily, but the on foot I always screw up on

 

I either get ripped up in the crossfire of the Cholos, or Lance dies cuz I take too long carefully trying to take em out.

 

any help for this? i always go in with armor a stubby and a micro

 

ps - i've owned lcs + vcs for about 2 days so i'm still getting used to the controls, since that maybe y i screw up

As soon as you get control, take cover behind something. Then just pop out and shoot a few then hide back behind your cover. Tap L2 then R2 (I'm presuming your on PS2) to reload, then pop out and shoot some more Cholos. Hopefully you should pass!

 

An Alternative method is to stay behind Lance, and use him as a shield

In a situation where you're greatly outnumbered by your enemies, you should always consider arming yourself with the most lethal weapon available in your arsenal that can take out your enemies en masse. Use a molotov, M249, minigun or flamethrower.

I recommend doing the Vigilante mission first, and then collecting as many SMG/AK 47 ammo as you can, as I collected about 300 rounds worth of AK ammo in 10 levels. This should help.
