Rashon.
in VCS i thought:the helicopters were too slow. the AI crap. The graphics did not bring the same ambience as they did in original VC. Lance a complete d*ckhead. The engine noises rubbish i.e: The bulldozer sounding the same as the Banshee? WTF? annoying Protagonist. That saying i still liked the game a lot. P.S Blackadder18 you have a cool signature! You looked at blackadder's signature but never looked at his post. This topic is for what you don't like about Vice City itself, not the storyline or gameplay. @edscoble: Vice City was twice the size of Liberty City. Vice City is longer from north to south, obviously and I'm sure Liberty City was probably bigger from west to east.
oipolloi
*ducks* No hills! But then i suppose it isnt supposed to have them What pisses me off is the "swamps", er, WHERE? there's just sea! They should have put an everglades-like swamp at the other end of the city (behind the stadium/airport) in which you can drown if you walk in, and some roads going across it which are blocked, would have felt more like it was part of Florida like it's supposed to be, and not some island in the middle of nowhere from which you can't even SEE the USA As for residential places, there where some HUGE skyscrapers near the beach... or where they hotels? there's also the ghetto bit, though it's a bit small, and the areas all around that bit with the 6-10 storey buildings which could potentially be apartments
darren90uk
the beach is tooooooo big way to big, its like a desert and theres nothing there, just life guard huts, whats the point in it????

Vic Rattlehead
.........I HATE THE ENDING!!!! it is the worst ending ever put out by i was geting into it by the middle but some how it molded into this piece of sh*t. (my oppinon) I hate all GTA endings, just because I would really want the story to go on and on. One thingis about VCS Vice City that, I dont feel like home when Im playin it. In GTA VC I instead get this feeling, maybe it about me, or maybe there is somethin really important removed, but I cant say what it is. One thing sucked is that you cant get inside police station, Malibu or Pole Position.
woozie92
I just remembered one thing: i dont like the police cars being green, i think they could have made it like that white police car that was taken out of VC. Or maybe they could have put both like in True Crime NYC. Would of been cool, wouldnt it? this one
makeshyft
I don't really have an issue with Vice City. Actually, it's probably my favourite map now that I think about it.

Brenteus Maximus
Yeah if Leaf Links had been more useful in the game it would've been more interesting. And i agree about the unused portions of land being a weakness. The large beach is one problem, it does seem a bit much and i felt that way in both games. But i was also never fond of the waterfront area between downtown and little haiti. The layout of the area just seems really awkward, especially behind downtown and the construction site in VCS that became the old folsk home by VC. Back there is just a bunch of grass and a couple of very large buildings that are only that big to be filler... it just seems like a wasted space that could have held more warehouses for little haiti or something. Yes, I agree. There was a lot of unused space in Vice City. I guess at the time Vice City was originally made, Rockstar never really made any uses for it. (my oppinon) Yeah, VCS's ending is bad, but, really, SA's worse. It made me feel like: "What the hell? Is it supposed to end that way?!" What was wrong with SA's ending?... And isn't this topic supposed to be talking about the city, and not the storyline?... And when I say residential areas, I'm talking about a graveyard too..I mean, where the hell the people go when they die in VC?! Well VC is surrounded by water, what do you think? SA was surrounded by water too! And, wow, Liberty City too! But at least they don't throw dead people in the water in those places! on vice city (first one not vice city stories there are dead guys with cement on there feet in the water
Gman8
I liked it. I actually thought the game would be a little longer. The final mission was pretty easy, especially if you had a minigun. I would have liked a more satisfying final mission though. Other than that, I like it. Vic was cool, Lance was not not. I actually liked Martinez. The lighting of the city was much more friendly to the eyes than the first game in VC. I wish Louise didn't die so that you could have dates like in San Andreas to add a little more long term value to the game after you beat it. I also had a big glitch in the mission where Louise was kidnapped from the burger place and you had to chase down 3 possible locations, but it turns out that it can be avoided. Overall, a good game with OK replay value, considering it was originally a PSP game.

Hmmm nice bike
I didn't like how they called the island to the left "Vice City Mainland". It's not connected to any land like Liberty City's mainland, Shorside Vale. They should have connected Vice City with a swamp and fields with a river, highway (an actual higway like the ones in San Andreas), and some roads that run through (this could be the everglades), and then there could be the Musty Pines old folks home, Shady Acres, some houses and buildings, and finally the highway ends with a roadblock of cement blocks, cranes, and trucks and an electric sign saying "Road Construction Ahead For Next 69 Miles". If you try to fly towards this place, you get turned around and will fly towards the opposite way (which is what happens if you fly towards the ocean). woozie92
I dont like the interiors loading, the loss of washington mall, North Point Mall lost its identification (Looking from the outside you dont know what place is that), some places also lost some billboards, you cant enter well stacked pizza, helicopter control is different and worst than on other GTAs and the fact that you cant enter the Ocean View Hotel anymore. But i really liked the new road that links Sunshine street to the airport, and the new feel of the city
Brenteus Maximus
The island setting of Vice was done more for a practical purpose than anything else. Liberty could be connected to the mainland via Shoreside Vale because SV was a small area of the mainland that was cut off from the rest of the land by the collapsed tunnel and the mountains. I think with Vice, since Florida isn't known for its mountainous terrain, having a natural mainland barrier was more difficult so they simply opted for an island to make life easier. The other problem might have been the layout of the city. As it stands now there isn't much space to put a highway to the mainland so it would have involved shuffling the city around just to accommodate a highway that served no practical purpose. Kind of a waste don't you think? Still, while it made the game design easier to just avoid it, there are ways to make a natural terrain barrier and keep VC connected to the mainland. I think the most clever way to go about this would have been to have a highway of sorts, or just a roadway leading to the mainland, running through Little Haiti, perhaps connecting to the bridge from Leaf Links. This road would, of course, lead nowhere. It would be barricaded for whatever reason, maybe under construction or under repair, so you would have no way to reach land, but the connection is still there (just like the tunnel in SV). Ok, so i have a roadway, but what about the water? Why couldn't Tommy or Vic just take a boat there? Simple. Instead of water behind the Stadium, Little Haiti and Havana, and the airport, you have everglades-style swampland, and an invisible water barrier for anyone venturing out around the glades. Of course the aircraft present another issue, but that is solved by the same air barrier that turns your plane around if you fly too far offshore in VC. The Vice glades would also prevent Vic from swimming to shore, and of course maybe you could have some small solid area of land to use in missions, but its main purpose would be as a natural barrier form the mainland. Damn, i should toss this into the mod suggestion area lol.
oipolloi
The "Vice Glades" could also have had some rivers in them that went as far as the highway, and then under a bridge which is under construction and back again. Just so you could drive those boats with the big fans on. Your character could have been prevented from wading through the swamp out of the city by "quicksand" that would pull Vic down or "unnatually thick undergrowth". And tommy just dies by even going in water thats deeper than his knees anyway XD
pimp_60cent
Am I the only one who wasn't a big fan of the weather system? The sunsets were awesome, I'm sure they are with the trails option as well (never seen it yet), but I really find the cloudless, bright blue sky to be ugly and bland. Its like the sky inn VCS is either a gradient or a flat colour. It also just seems unnatural that I haven't seen ONE CLOUD yet in VCS except for the rainy morning part of the day cycle. Am I wrong? Same here. The only times I see clouds are at night (sometimes), and in the morning. Then the rest is just sunny blue, without a single cloud. And when it rains, the sky still stays sunny! At least they could've made the sky like LCS were it was different colors and clouds.

TahoeMike
I think Vice City is too boring and small. Atleast in Liberty City there were interseting features and a city to look at. Vice City just gets boring. It's set in Florida but you can't swim. Everytime I drive fast, I always fall or speed into the water and then die. There's no decent road area's to drive in. Basically to me it's not big enough and doesn't feature Florida landmarks like swamps or animals such as aliigators to get you when you step somewhere near the water or somewhere wet. Hmmm nice bike
You can only swim for a time period. Not unless you do the beach patrol side-missions. Then you can swim forever. Not just for a limited time. Claude94
