Ethicon
The VI looks similar to "AI", Artificial Intelligence (AI) , upside down. Altho this is only my speculation, maybe this adds a little bit of fuel to the futuristic cyborg killan gta4 fire..but GTA2 has already dabbed into these waters, and were supposed to expect somthing different. I enjoyed gta2 but I get a nasty taste in my mouth when I think about Robots, Flying cars, and meals in pills. I like to reach for that Present Day Urban War kind of feel, ya heard. 1."Things Will Be Different" .... Things....what are these things? I assume these "things" are refering to the "things" in previous GTA titles, missions, gameplay, display, controls, etc ,etc. So instead of thinking about how they will add somthing new to the game, think about how they are going to change and twerk, the already known features, to be different. Kernel32
Things will be different might imply that R* steps off the whole Liberty City or Vice City or San Andreas or Londen or GTA2 line.

paul2007
I've read this whole thread, and I have an idea that no one seems to have mentioned... What about a GTA4 that allows you to play the same region in, say, three different times? I have a feeling the UK will at least feature in the next game; what I'm trying to say is the game might feature: London 1969 London 1999 London 2029 Or something like that. And you might either play the same character or a different character in each time zone. And hence "Things will be different". Add MMO and the new graphics engines, and you've got your new GTA. Just a thought. I can't help but also feel that if it's set in the UK, the Rockstar North crew will definitely have a city similar to Edinburgh (probably featuring citizens wearing kilts!), and probably Manchester (Madchester?) as well as London. That is a good theory...but, last time I checked four in roman numerals is 'IV' not 'VI'. Four =IV, Six =VI. Way to think out of the box though. icecreamtruck_driver
I'm more than willing to bet when I play GTA4 it will feel just like the first time I played GTA3, f*ckin-a beautiful. I'm also willing to bet that the Euphoria engine will be implemented and that in its self will be moe than a cause for Rockstar to claim that things will be different. Whatever the case is, there is virtually no other game company that actually slows time down for me, especially with the way the release information and tease their public. I'm not worried. bj070893
I think they're trying to make a "hold your breath" atmosphere. I don't know for sure but I think it is rare for a game to have a countdown to the trailer. Plus they've added "Things will be different" makes everyone ask themselves what will be different. Barguast
"Things will be different" The first thing that came to mind when I read that (momentarily disabling my hype inhibitor) was maybe GTA:IV will be set in some kind of alternate GTA reality. Bear with me. For example, they could follow an alternate GTA3 story and have Claude ignore Maria and stick with the Mafia. Obviously they wouldn't have rigged the car bomb either, otherwise it'd be a very brief game. I think it's unlikely, and I wouldn't like to see any kind of 'reimagining' of a previous GTA game, but it is just a thought.

Over The Wall
Rockstar has improved the experience of the series with each installment. I trust them to make this game as different as they so desire. They've always been groundbreaking with each new release and I'm sure GTA IV will provide a whole new aspect to the series. I doubt the improvement will be as drastic as from GTA I to GTA II or II to III, but you knew it'd be more different than Vice City was from San Andreas. They're dealing with completely new hardware and will probably be among the most innovative of all the current next gen game companies with their first batch of releases. She owns her own brothel doing "missions" for a variety of gangs.... ..my interpretaton... i wouldn't mind if u were female or male, my only problem would be the back in time type of thing, i mean that would be taking out what reality is left in GTA, i mean come on, time traveling is just about as close to unrealistic as it gets... GTAThomas
I can't really think of many things that could be different. At first I thought maybe a female to be the main character, first person view, and in the future/way past. Whatever they're trying to do with that quote sure is working my mind. Why do you have to lump MMO's with RPG's? They don't have to go hand in hand, games like Test Drive Unlimited introduced an MMO feature to a non-RPG genre game being your racing game. Umm... he didn't exactly say MMOs and RPGs go hand in hand. If I said "the only thing worse than a headache is waking next to your own sister", it wouldn't mean headaches have anything to do with sisters. I think. I don't have a sister.
