Dark_side646
I'll be frank. I'm only stating opinions. "xyz is good/bad" = "xyz is good/bad IMO". So if anybody thinks I'm wrong for reasons other than "xyz IS good/bad. Period." feel free to tell me. Clear? Good. Haven't played the Stories or IV but I'm sure that IV might top my list some day and LCS & VCS won't get the last spot. 1. Vice City (9/10) - Easily the best. Lots of features but not too much that it feels cluttered, not too little. Great story. Never felt dragged out. Don't know why some bash it. It WAS inspired to some extent by some of movies but it did what they couldn't - make me like them that much. THIS is what Scarface and Tony should've been. The ending was the best in any game I've played. Tommy had a rare class radiating from him. Confident, in control, cool, respected friends and showed enemies that he was easily their worst nightmare. Sure he shouts at times but with idiots surrounding you, you tend to get angry. Gameplay, combined with the feel, just made me sit on the seat and play all day and not get up till I was pulled out forcefully. Every mission (story & side) was able to hold me for hours. Graphics were good too. Cartoony but better than SA's (and III's by a mile). I'd rather watch a body move on my screen than floating chunks. Flash, Emotion and Fever are my favourites. K-Chat and VCPR have no competition. However, Espantoso was my LEAST favourite radio in any GTA (besides MSX). 2. San Andreas (8.9/10) - SO much to do. Lots of fun : missions, vehicles, weapons and all. The "tedious" stuff is easily ignore-able & won't affect your game. Missions were great and didn't have any "been there done that" feel to it too. Physics were better. No wasted space IMO. Story wasawesome. Can't make head-or-tail of ghetto-kids owning casinos? Too bad. Its not a family-soap but a deeper, darker & more fleshed out story. A bit boring in the middle (Garage Missions and Catalina) but soon got back on track. CJ is one of my favourites. Loved his "friends & family first" and "never-say-die" nature. Never gave up & crushed those who tried to crush him. Graphics, sadly, not good. Talking about cutscenes. Sometimes character models (mainly CJ) look terrible. Soundtrack also didn't impress. Never liked rap. RadioX was bad too. Even WCTR. The news was the only good thing that gave it an edge. 3. GTA III (6/10) - I know people will hate me for this. Still, LC feels dull and lifeless. Missions and soundtrack were great but driving a Rumpo collecting "donkey-memorabilia" on hilly roads, dodging morons/drivers & a stiff time limit aren't my idea of "fun". I like the soundtrack more than SA's. Loved Head Radio, Lips, Flashback & Chatterbox. But the others are a different story. I HATE MSX, Jah, Rise and the rest. Are these songs? Are those guys DJs? Dunno. Hated how rampages relocated. They were still fun, so were unique jumps. Bad physics too. The smallest of bump gets your car smoking. Lame story. Work for a boss, dump boss, get another, rinse and repeat. Only in the end did it get better but thats not exactly a good thing. Hated how gangs attack you. Characters like Ray and El Burro were weird. Didn't like Claude that much either. G/f dumps him & he wants revenge. So he drives people to dog-food factories & blows laundry vans? Where's the revenge? Only good moments were killing Sal & Cat. Graphics were bad too. In cutscenes you mostly saw floating chunks instead of a human body. Don't get me wrong. This game is awesome. I didn't mean to bash it that much but I just had to lay out it's problems. Another reason for the low score would simply be that if I rate it any higher; then I'll have to rate VC and SA higher than 10. Thats how much I think those 2 surpassed it. Dark_side646
Vice City will NOT be the best (well for me, till)...More cars Put GTA4 Graphics in Better storyline More weapons Add more features, like one's off IV and SA And loads more. Vice City was no match to III, SA, or IV Imo. I haven't play it in months, since I think it is boring (Imo) I believe this very list applies to GTA3 too. Now, I accept why your reasons make IV and SA easily surpass VC but how does this apply to III?
boothy
and THEN that garbage known as liberty city stories that brought a major discrase to the gta series. im gonna have to kill you, sorry.
Flesh-n-Bone
I believe this very list applies to GTA3 too. Now, I accept why your reasons make IV and SA easily surpass VC but how does this apply to III? Kinda Anti-VC bias. I mean it's ironic to say you'll like VC if it gets more features and this and that... But GTA3 had very limited guns and this appeals to GTA IV as well, VC has as many weapons as SA, LCS and VCS have with the exception of extra useless items such as cane and dildo's. Storyline, I didn't like it at first but it grew on me as I played the game more and more. Features? GTA3 barely had any and if features are important then how can III surpass VC on that? And VC has a good variation of cars and GTA4 graphics, I barely give a dipsh*t about graphics because GTA is GTA not a flying bird. While I like VC quite a lot it happens to be last on my list of GTA3 canons only above IV. So if your interested. 1. SA 2. VCS 3. III 4. LCS 5. VC 6. IV 7. GTA2 That's the one's I've played and I don't think I'll ever play the other 2D games, specially Advance since it's a GBA exclusive.
Dark_side646
My point exactly . When it comes to gameplay SA, without doubt, makes VC look old and tiny. VCS and LCS too. But III?

Coolyfett
1. San Andreas by miles... (it has the storyline, the characters, the music, the atmosphere and most important the features and gameplay.) 2. III (It's easy to get addicted into this game, I just like the police chases, and cruising around the city, the storyline was pretty nice as well. Some good music as well. Too bad bikes, choppers and many weapons are missed here. But it still deserve it's dues.) 3. Liberty City Stories (A great hit for the first PSP game even though I got it on PS2, it has a nice quick storyline as well as a better rendition of the great Liberty City. But the music was a bit too for my like, but at least there was no sh*t like V-Rock.) 4. Vice City Stories (I haven't played it but I'm 100% sure it's above Vice City. I just know I'll like Vic a lot more than Tommy and the music actually feels like 80's.) 5. Vice City (I don't know anything, but it must be my least rated GTA, I just find it overrated, very very sh*t music, crappy storyline, it was quite easy too. And no antagonist as well as the fact it's quite boring once you complete the storyline. And also it's fans usually piss me off with how they overrate this game. Don't forget about all these crappy gangs they put. The only OK gangs are these street Haitians and Cubans. The only thing I liked in this game was it's atmosphere and the fact it added some stuff GTA 3 missed as well as it being a GTA game.) No sh*t like V-Rock?????? You've got to be f*cking kidding me!!! V-Rock was the best radio station on any GTA!! Ill co sign that!
Tamale Loco
Whatever I say after this sentence will be posted as OPINIONS. 1. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City: The atmosphere of Vice City toned to the 80's is the best way to relax after the dull moments III gave. People roller skating, playing tennis, wearing pastel suits gave me this "feeling" of enlightenment. The radio stations are good, too. I liked V-Rock, Fever, Emotion 98.3 and Flash FM. I disliked Radio Espantoso. The car designing was top-notch. The Infernus and Cheetah reminded me of my Italian car favorites Lamborghini Diablo and Ferrari Testarossa, respectively. The game play was good. The characters were very detailed. Tommy Vercetti is almost a good Tony Montana replica: tough, and isn't afraid on anything. A game no other GTA will be beaten as far as I'm concerned. 9.7/10 2. Grand Theft Auto: IV: Ah, nothing like New York. The best GTA game of the 7th Generation. The graphics are fantastic. Realism got me there. Al Traffic is realistic. The characters are detailed. Niko was kind-hearted: I liked that. However, the soundtrack isn't that great as III-era games are. The cars, on the other hand, were fantastic on design. Good for an 8. 8.2/10 3. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories: Almost the same as VC, but is plagued by glitches. Vic was like CJ and Niko are on their games, but more of kind-hearted. His concern for Louise is top-notch. A game which feelings are in existence. 7.6/10 4. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories: My least favorite, yet I don't hate this games. I loved their features: LCS: Improvement on graphics, nice storyline, new sceneries. Yet it has the 2nd worst soundtrack in the GTA family. SA: I hate rap, so the soundtrack is obviously the worst for my part. The graphics were indecent for it's time. The gang-property feature was great though, and I like CJ's attitude. 7.0 Wrapped up. pato303
I had San Andreas as my favourite and still kinda is with the driving. But Grand Theft Auto 4 pipped it when I got somewhat used to the driving. GTA 4 has loads of awesome stuff to do, good missions.
