Thermal Sniper

Just a little mod for those who like to go Sniping at night or in the woods where targets are hard to spot.

 

Done in Sanny Builder with the current (20/03/07 at time of going to press) SASCM.

That reminds me of a weapon in Return to Castle Wolfenstein. It had a very advanced sniper rifle called Snooper somethingsomething and it did something similar to this.

Shouldn't it contain a 'player defined' check? And: Can you still activate the thermal vision with the googles? Doesn't seem so.

Not really tried using the googles as the idea was to negate their use.

I could make it more complicated and include checks etc but, like the topic name says it only deos what it says on the tin.

 

Is the player defined command really needed?

All cutscenes or action sequenses I have seen so far set player_controllable to 0 rendering it impossible to turn on the vision when not in play anyway, I haven't seen any use the thermal vision either.

 

I am reasonably new to all this so keep your comments coming as they will help me improve my methods.

OK, just thought it would be better if you could still pick up the goggles and run around with the vision.

 

 

Is the player defined command really needed?

It doesn't hurt to include it and prepares for rare situations you can't think of beforehand, where the game would crash because the player isn't defined anymore.
