If you're on Firefox, click tools, options, uncheck "remember what I enter into search bars and forms". That'll keep if from remembering at all.

If you just wanted to clear the menus because of something "bad" you searched for, click tools, private data, check "save forms and search history.

If you're using Internet Explorer 7 (don't know about 6 or earlier, haven't used it in forever), click the tools button, then "internet options". Click "delete forms" to (obviously) delete all saved information entered in forms, then click yes.

As far as I know, there is no way of permanently stopping it from saving form data and search terms.

Hope that solved your problem.

If your using IE7... to turn it off altogether.

Tools > Internet Options > Contents > Click on 'settings' near autocomplete

..and uncheck them all apart from passwords. Thats how mine is anyway. smile.gif

I have one on BT Yahoo! browser on the adressbar that wont go away. When you click the drop down menu on the adress bar, it shows the sites youve been on recently. I can get rid of them in Firefox and IE but not the BT Yahoo! browser. Just gave up and deleted it ph34r.gif

*Assuming you're on Firefox 2.0.0.2.

If all you want to do is clear it temporarily, or turn of the suggestions, just right click the field where you'd enter text.

Search history I don't mind (though I clear it from time to time) but I find the suggestions pretty annoying, as they rarely have anything to do with what I'm looking for.
