mitchF430
For the past few months I've been watching San Andreas drifting videos on YouTube and I've wanted to make one of my own. Pretty much all of them are recorded with Fraps or whatever the f*ck, and the only way I can is by planting the camera in front of the screen and recording like that. But I'm not about to post a video if I can't catch my stuff properly. I have no idea how the hell it works, let alone the equipment I need for it. Someone help me out here. lahna
Fraps is a video-capturing software, you can download the trial at Fraps.com. However, the trial only lets you record like 30 second videos. Also the full version is very hard to install when you have had the trial installed before. It's easy to record with Fraps: start fraps, start the game, press F9 to start recording, and F9 again to stop. The video file will not be compressed on the fly, and thus will take a large amount of space. To compress video files, use a video editing program like VirtualDub (free). You could have tried a Google search with "Fraps" at first before posting here, but hope you got what you were looking for. mitchF430
Well the problem is that I play San An on a PS2. I just heard the word "Fraps" somewhere and I thought that it had something to do with a TV. Is there some sort of cord I can buy that can hook my camera up to my TV? Ottae
The only way of recording from your television (as far as I'm aware) is by having a TV card in your PC and plugging your TV into the card and using the software you get with it to record onto your computer. Fraps has nothing to do with the PS2 version, it's only related to the PC. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/269643-fraps/#findComment-4097691 Share on other sites
lahna
Nope, you can only use Fraps on a PC. I really don't know about PS2 video capturing, but I suppose you could connect your PS2 to a PC somehow and use a video capture card (correct me if I'm wrong).
