dude Kurupt has never sucked. Against The Grain wasn't his best album but death row was going through alot of problems and still is but he had a few good tracks off that album like Throwback Muzik and his new joint with Soopafly is pretty decent it has that classic sound to it

Kurupt is actually pretty dope, but I've been listening to alot of Outlawz, Game & Papoose. The New Dpg Album really wasn't too good, highlights were "this Gangsta Chit is Ourz" & "IT waz a good ass day". Papoose has really stepped his game up since he first started, and his new album should be real good; his most recent work is the song with Joe.The best rappers in the Outlawz are Young Noble & Hussein Fatal, though Fatal isn't signed with cashville. If you google "cashville county" you'll find it easily, hot track- Noble has the best verse on it (he's the first verse).

your right about Papoose but he's always been a good lyricist since he first appeared and Tha Outlawz are dope but i'm still wondering why the hell there signed to Bucks label when its a southern label and there classed as Westcoast artists but them been signed to Bucks label also put them in a difficult situation. Because of the Buck vs Game when Young Noble and Hussein Fatal have worked with him before and i hope they do again because across the coast was a great track and Young Nobles stuff with Game when he was signed to get low was pretty decent too.

being a rapper myself, I can say that rap is some of the most intresting forms of art in general. Not talking about stuff like 50 Cent - Candy shop, but Pac's lyrics, Nas' deep lyrics, Snoops and Dre's straight gangsta poetry.

It's the life.

i'm not even a huge fan of nas, but you gotta have some respect for the man. he hasn't got a single track that would fall to the category of sh*t. (excluding makings of a perfect bitch)

Illmatic wasn't dope? That's easily one of my top ten albums ever, possibly top five. He certainly fell off when he started going for more mainstream artists, but you can't knock him as a lyrcist. Sh*t, half these "underground" artists e-bangers listen to totally cop his style, and wordplay is nothing when you don't have a presence on the mic.

i wonder when that Kurupt Against The Grain E.P's gonna drop i just wanna hear some of the songs to see if there any good or not just out of curiousity. And i'm Glag Hittmans startin to make a comeback he did some good tracks on 2001 and his track Last Dayz is very under rated.

So I heard mad cats going on about this Joell Ortiz cat, so I went out and peeped some tracks. Lyrically, he's not like BLADAOW in your face, but definitely better than anything I've heard comin' out of a major label recently. Not to mention he's got a good message on the joint "Hip-Hop" kust callin' out all the phonies, and, sh*t, he did a joint with Immortal Technique.

I'll be watchin' this dude.

Funny, I just saw an article on him a couple weeks ago, and appearently he was signed to Aftermath at one point, but Dre let him release his album through Koch. The album appearently got some good reviews as well. The only song I've ever heard him on was the Brooklyn Remix, with Big Daddy Kane I believe.

Joell Ortiz is the truth. The album he just released through Koch is called The Brick: Bodega Chronicles and I've had it on repeat for weeks. If anyone can bring New York (and true hiphop) back to the forefront it's him.

I've also been listening to Foreign Exchange's album Connected alot lately. Any other Little Brother/Justus League fans here?

I knwe that Joel Ortiz came out with his album, but i dint really pay much attention to it. Then I saw his video for Hip Hop, and I could tell that he is going to be changing things. Checked out the rest of his album, and you can tell there are good things to come.

looks like The Game is working on a new album which will feature Techniec, Dr Dre, Eminem, Cyresso and Ya Boy to just name a few. And Xzibit is making a new album aswell and it looks like him and Crooked I are now Beefing with DMX.

No Escape?

I got RJD2's Deadringer. Man oh man...favorite tracks are The Horror and Ghostwriter. Can't believe I didn't find this area of hip hop sooner.

Currently working on acquiring DJ Shadow's Endtroducing and MF DOOM's Operation: Doomsday.

I hated that RJD2 album. The one afterwards was hella nice, though.

Endtroducing and O:D are both extremely brilliant albums. If you dig Endtroducing, cop Private Press (sorta like a follow up album but not really).

No major record label would ever sign him. I mean, who wants to turn on the radio and hear something that isn't insulting to one's intelligence and is the same exact song you heard a month ago? rolleyes.gif

But I think he's great. People say that he doesn't support his theories with fact or evidence, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the government is hiding things from us. He's just a guy who does his homework, and can make it rhyme, quite frankly.

Poverty Of Philosophy - Immortal Technique

Most of my Latino and black people who are struggling to get food, clothes and shelter in the hood are so concerned with that, that philosophising about freedom and socialist democracy is usually unfortunately beyond their rationale. They don't realize that America can't exist without separating them from their identity, because if we had some sense of who we really are, there's no way in hell we'd allow this country to push it's genocidal consensus on our homelands. This ignorance exists, but it can be destroyed.

Nigga talk about change and working within the system to achieve that. The problem with always being a conformist is that when you try to change the system from within, it's not you who changes the system; it's the system that will eventually change you. There is usually nothing wrong with compromise in a situation, but compromising yourself in a situation is another story completely, and I have seen this happen long enough in the few years that I've been alive to know that it's a serious problem. Latino America is a huge colony of countries whose presidents are cowards in the face of economic imperialism. You see, third world countries are rich places, abundant in resources, and many of these countries have the capacity to feed their starving people and the children we always see digging for food in trash on commercials. But plutocracies, in other words a government run by the rich such as this one and traditionally oppressive European states, force the third world into buying overpriced, unnecessary goods while exporting huge portions of their natural resources.

I'm quite sure that people will look upon my attitude and sentiments and look for hypocrisy and hatred in my words. My revolution is born out of love for my people, not hatred for others.

You see, most of Latinos are here because of the great inflation that was caused by American companies in Latin America. Aside from that, many are seeking a life away from the puppet democracies that were funded by the United States; places like El Salvador, Guatemala, Peru, Columbia, Nicaragua, Ecuador and Republica Dominicana, and not just Spanish-speaking countries either, but Haiti and Jamaica as well.

As different as we have been taught to look at each other by colonial society, we are in the same struggle and until we realize that, we'll be fighting for scraps from the table of a system that has kept us subservient instead of being self-determined. And that's why we have no control over when the embargo will stop in Cuba, or when the bombs will stop dropping in Vieques.

But you see, here in America the attitude that is fed to us is that outside of America there live lesser people. "f*ck them, let them fend for themselves." No, f*ck you, they are you. No matter how much you want to dye your hair blonde and put fake eyes in, or follow an anorexic standard of beauty, or no matter how many diamonds you buy from people who exploit your own brutally to get them, no matter what kind of car you drive or what kind of fancy clothes you put on, you will never be them. They're always gonna look at you as nothing but a little monkey. I'd rather be proud of what I am, rather than desperately trying to be something I'm really not, just to fit in. And whether we want to accept it or not, that's what this culture or lack of culture is feeding us.

I want a better life for my family and for my children, but it doesn't have to be at the expense of millions of lives in my homeland. We're given the idea that if we didn't have these people to exploit then America wouldn't be rich enough to let us have these little petty material things in our lives and basic standards of living. No, that's wrong. It's the business giants and the government officials who make all the real money. We have whatever they kick down to us. My enemy is not the average white man, it's not the kid down the block or the kids I see on the street; my enemy is the white man I don't see: the people in the white house, the corporate monopoly owners, fake liberal politicians those are my enemies. The generals of the armies that are mostly conservatives those are the real Mother-f*ckers that I need to bring it to, not the poor, broke country-ass soldier that's too stupid to know sh*t about the way things are set up.

In fact, I have more in common with most working and middle-class white people than I do with most rich black and Latino people. As much as racism bleeds America, we need to understand that classism is the real issue. Many of us are in the same boat and it's sinking, while these bougie Mother-f*ckers ride on a luxury liner, and as long as we keep fighting over kicking people out of the little boat we're all in, we're gonna miss an opportunity to gain a better standard of living as a whole.

In other words, I don't want to escape the plantation I want to come back, free all my people, hang the Mother-f*cker that kept me there and burn the house to the god damn ground. I want to take over the encomienda and give it back to the people who work the land.

You cannot change the past but you can make the future, and anyone who tells you different is a f*cking lethargic devil. I don't look at a few token Latinos and black people in the public eye as some type of achievement for my people as a whole. Most of those successful individuals are sell-outs and house Negros.

But, I don't consider brothers a sell-out if they move out of the ghetto. Poverty has nothing to do with our people. It's not in our culture to be poor. That's only been the last 500 years of our history; look at the last 2000 years of our existence and what we brought to the world in terms of science, mathematics, agriculture and forms of government. You know the idea of a confederation of provinces where one federal government controls the states? The Europeans who came to this country stole that idea from the Iroquois lead. The idea of impeaching a ruler comes from an Aztec tradition. That's why Montezuma was stoned to death by his own people 'cause he represented the agenda of white Spaniards once he was captured, not the Aztec people who would become Mexicans.

So in conclusion, I'm not gonna vote for anybody just 'cause they black or Latino they have to truly represent the community and represent what's good for all of us proletariat.

Viva la revolution!

The only reason why he isnt on the radio is because its something soccer moms and there corporate husbands want to hear about when they turn on they're radio.

Even if Immortal Technique decided to go mainstream, he wouldn't make any hits, 'cause nowadays people want to hear about the wealth people have, not the poverty Immortal Technique sings about. His theories about America and especially the people in charge of America aren't the kind of things your regular patriot would like to hear as well.

Personally I love his brutal one-of-a-kind lyrics. There aren't any other rappers I know that match Immortal Technique's lyrics and view of the world.
