I've been listening to Joell Ortiz for about 5 years now. He hasn't made it real big, but it's still all good because he's still nice. He's had a few good tracks. I need to see if I can find some of his albums because I've just listened to his songs when I've found them. I don't have any songs by him on my iPod except for one song, Mean Business.

Its pure heat in places, bit patchy in others. You can see why Dre signed him tho, and its good to see the cat getting some recognition.

I've always ignored Akon, thinking he was nothing special, but then i heard his hooks on BTNHs Strength and Loyalty album and god damn they are catchy. So i checked out his videos and they are all totally awesome. So i gave 'Trouble' a listen and i love it.

 

He has a unique style/combination of styles that makes 90% of his songs catchy

Anybody listen to Bishop Lamont? He's signed with Aftermath and Interscope. He used to be really heavy on the mic, but since he signed with those labels I've noticed that he's not as good as he used to be. Is that a thing that happens to people who sign with them? I hope it isn't because Joell Ortiz is signed with them too. It seems like Aftermath is looking at those major mixtape rappers because those two weren't very well known and now they're getting recognition and dropping albums.
