Man I almost want to run to streets and shout "F*CK TROY AVE!".

I mean, he's falling down without a real rise to fame, and he's pulling NYC down with himself, too. His fans (if he's got any for real) should understand that what he's doing, isn't bringing NYC back. He's just f*cking NYC's reputation.

Bringing somewhere back, doesn't mean doing every dated thing that rappers of its golden age did. He almost remade 50's In Da Club in a song called "Show Me Love" in his NYC: The Album and he's trying to sound like him just because he was an East Coast top-seller once.

If you really wanna bring NYC back, do SOMETHING NEW there.

People say Kendrick Lamar took West to the top cuz he did a conceptually new kind of work there; cuz he didn't do repetitive sh*t and he didn't try to sound like Dre, Pac or others, although he's now compared to Pac because he's almost as great in his fanbase opinion.

So go and don't talk about bringing NYC back until you've got something new to say...

Gotta agree with much of this.

Song above was the first I heard of him and remember thinking, "Good rapper, great song, but a little too ambitious for someone who I'm just now hearing about." Now two years or so later and I'm thinking, "Where you at Troy?" It was a good song, but he didn't even have the best verse on his own track. Prodigy and Raekwon went in. He's fallen off before even being put on. Sure it's a bit too early to judge his entire career, but I've yet to see him come out with anything that justifies dissing Kendrick in the above track. He comes off as entitled.

Worse yet, he doesn't even embody anything NYC-related in his art. If you take out his NYC-worshiping lyrics and slight accent, you can't even tell he's from NY. The beast coast movement (albeit overrated), ASAP mob, Action Bronson, Joey Badass, and many others have done way more for the local rap game than Troy ever will. And that is assuming NYC even fell off to begin with. Frankly, no one brought back either West (LA) or the East (NYC) since the global entertainment media industry has always over-represent those cities anyway. LA and NYC are home to the vast majority of record labels, TV/film studios, film settings, awarding-bodies, and showbiz in general. The whole geographic instigation by Troy is just a desperate attempt at staying relevant.

He's actually a Mini-Fiddy. Fiddy started blabbing when his career was 4 albums deep, and Troy's doing it in his 2nd album! Fiddy fell off after 5 years of being in power, and Troy is falling off after one year. Fiddy got unbelievably rich in middle of his career, and Troy's been claiming it from start...

He's so funny. He blabs about money and can't see rappers like J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar changing the whole More-Cash-is-More-Fans thing. It seems like he has closed his eyes, has a SMS-Audio pair of headphones on, is listening to GRoDT and The Massacre all-day-long behind a microphone and repeating everything he hears.

Anyway, I've found myself in love with this classic recently:

Hot off the press. Eat it up, ya'll.

The footage from 1:46 to 1:49 seems so 90's retro.

Hmm... Nas actually had way better and more suitable lyrics to be put on a Sprite bottle, didn't he?

If anyone can find or make the instrumental of that track that'd be mad.

Once upon a time, Young Buck had nice songs. He wasn't just a mad beast shouting and screaming on trap beats... It's really sad how weak he's nowadays. His downfall started right after he got out of G-Unit Records.

The Rehab sucked when compared to Buck The World and Straight Outta Ca$hville and his recent mixtapes (Before the Beast, 10 Bullets, 10 Bricks) have 2 or 3 good songs overally.

Anyway, he had nice songs, once upon a time.

The idea is to post songs and artists that others may not know of so that they can discover something new, clappie boy. But in your honor I'll post this lesser known biggie track:

Today I've been listening to 'Unmastered Sequence'; It's the title given to the demo version of Eminem's SSLP. There are enough changes in it that it's an interesting listen. A fair number of the songs remain as they were released but with slight differences and with the inclusion of

,
,
and
on the tail end. All worth checking out if you've never heard them.

Several things are uncensored, like the original, original version of some of the lyrics in 'My Name Is' and the 'rape the women's swim team' line in JDGAF are all there.

Some of the differences to the LP songs are cool: 'Bad Meets Evil' has a Slick Rick 'Childrens Story' style intro instead of the Cowboy thing that made the LP. It's all pretty dope stuff.

My favourite however is the slight differences in the instrumental for 'As The World Turns'. The final beat is original as f*ck but I kinda wish the 'uuh, uuh' noises and the xylophone(?) in the demo made the final version.

Also, Ghostface Killah & Adrian Younge have dropped 'Twelve Reasons to Die II' Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but I will soon. Very excited about this project, loved the first one and the Appolo Brown mix of it.

Wow, have I finally found a G-Unit fan around here? Nice!

This performance was dope:

BTW, how did they do tracks with MGK? I always thought it'd be impossible due to Fiddy/Diddy beef but MGK actually performed at Best Buy Theater with G-Unit for 50's Starz Show, Power, Season 2 premiere.
