I've been listening to Nas a lot lately. Most of his songs give off a New York City-type vibe, so that's probably why. Well to me anyway. Maybe it's because he's from where I'm from (Queens, NY). Current favorites by him so far are probably 'The World Is Yours', 'NY State of Mind', and 'Memory Lane'.

I've got their album The Torture Papers and it's pretty good. I'll definitely give that album a listen, I've only heard good things about it so far.

 

@Vanilla Shake: It's good to see that your favorite songs from Nas are songs from his album Illmatic, that's got to be his best album for sure. His album Stillmatic comes in a close second though so you should give that a listen too.

Also awaiting the new CunninLynguists album, which is out sometime soon. I have the advance via other means, but its got "This is an advance..." half way through each track. So im not listening to it until I get the real thing, which no doubt will own.

One song, never got done... I dont know what happened with it... I did my verse, sent it out... I was told it was gonna get done.. but it didn't...

I guess i'll put it up on myspace... so you guys can hear it.. It is NOT on any album. It is NOTTTTT on the new AOTP album.

At the time when the AOTP album was recorded, I was mostly in L.A. workin' on Styles of Beyond's "Razor Tag" mixtape, and their major label debut "Rocket Surgery".

Radio revolves around who has the most money not who the people want to hear the most and who's putting out the best music. But, that's why I don't listen to the radio...

 

Kanye's album is old now?!??!? It came out like a month ago and you say its old?? Perfect example of why music sucks these days. The album JUST came out and it's already old...that's because music is so over-cluttered with new garbage everyday it seems like the people just can't get enough of it so they need more new garbage to fill their needs while the GOOD music just gets passed up because it isn't catchy for the DAY or WEEK.

 

Anybody listen to Playaz Circle? Different southern flow and style....most might not like it but it's something different...

Haha, exactly what I was thinking. Kanye and Lil Wayne is half of what they play on the radio now, or at least where I live.

I haven't picked up a new album in ages, I'm thinking of picking up A Piece of Strange and Archetype soon. Anything that would be better? I'm debating between A Piece of Strange and Will Rap For Food.

Personaly, I don't listen to the radio. Not because I hate mainstream (Kanye is a good rapper) but because when a station or time slot is apparently dedicated to urban music they have all these stupid pop bands/singers who get played bacuse they are black or wear baseball hats like Ciara, Gym Class Heroes, Craig David, Sean Kingston ect.

Will Rap For Food is awesome, great album. Better than A Piece Of Strange imo. But CunninLynguists new album is out soon, in fact it might be out now. Haven't really checked.
