Thats f*cking great for the first one. I've had mates trying to mate beats and doing allot worse then that. I think thats because you didnt try to do too much and actually used real sounding instruments; for instance you used a nice piano, allot of people would have a xylophone sounding thing there instead.

Allot of potential.

I think thats because you didnt try to do too much and actually used real sounding instruments; for instance you used a nice piano, allot of people would have a xylophone sounding thing there instead.

Ur beats sound like the bass from a beat, like someone EQ'd the hi end out and just left the lo end sound. It sounds like if you put in some proper sick drums and maybe some nice horn samples here and there, you'll have some mad nice beats.

 

Loudness isn't everything also, if your beat is quiet but turning the levels up makes it clip and go into the red, that means its distorting and your music is better off quieter rather than being forced to be louder and then loosing the quality.

The hardware/software plug in used to fine tune sounds in music, well your beats sound like someone used an equalizer, boosted the bass and took out all the treble, So to me your beats kind of feel like a template ready for some sick drums to be put in place. They sound good don't get me wrong, sound like some underground 90's New York sh*t. I like your samples and you seem to be on that boom bap moody style which i love, but they sound very bassy/muddy. For a bass line that's fine but on it's own it sounds like more of the bases for a beat, rather than a completed beat.

That's exactly what i did, i used the "Parametric EQ 2" plug-in on the bassline which I took the sample from the Dracula theme song from a Youtube video I downloaded. And I did the same thing to the kick and the snare. I'm to trying to go for a Underground New York/ boom bap beat. (my favorite type of beats) and thanks again for the help.

Try and find a nice horn sample or something like that, might take ages finding a suitable one but it'll be worth it once you get that sound thrown in there.

Nice, i used to make beats using Reason and Cubase, got a few friends who use FL and other programs but most of my friends now use hardware rather than software.

I was trying to see that on TMZ it said "Rapper shot and killed", and it changed to something else, and something happened to "Bone Thugs-N-Harmony" and it changed to something else, and I said "This is bulls**t".
