Kendrick's got another classic on his hands if the whole album sounds like that and 'i'. Damn. I hope those who thought 'i' wasn't Kendrick enough and were worried, change their minds after hearing that.

"i" was excellent. Dunno why anyone wouldn't like it. That Isley Brothers sample sold me on the song the moment it started and I love it.

 

I hope he uses the same soul sound from "i" for the rest of his album, cause that'd make it a classic.

 

And Straight outta Compton should be great to watch. Can't wait for the release!

However, I'm really missing the 90s these days, maybe that's because I'm playing GTA: Liberty City Stories at the moment, which perfectly captures those days with songs like "

Definitely! Mos Def is one of my favourite rappers of all time, he's just immense! The passion he puts in his songs is something I highly appreciate, and he always tries to send a positive message through his songs. That's what I call real Hip Hop!

 

I have a lot of good memories with this song:

 

 

I also like Mos Def because his Rap is so different from song to song. When you want to chill out you listen to songs such as "

", when you want something more classic you listen to "

" or "

", while if you want something more electronic there's "

" featuring Massive Attack or "

" featuring Gorillaz. With Mos Def you always have a choice and listening to him never gets repetitive.

 

Since we are in the "nostalgia zone", I'd like to suggest Frank Ocean. I already talked about him on here, but he's pretty underrated in my opinion. He made an album called "Nostalgia, ULTRA" in 2011, with a lot of quality songs such as "Novacane" and "Swim Good". A couple of songs have also been produced by Radiohead and Coldplay. However, my favourite song he made is "

", which was supposed to be included in the album "channel ORANGE", but didn't make the cut - however, the lyrics are simply beautiful!

 

Description of the song as found on Genius: ""Eyes Like Sky" is a metaphor for the blind boy being able to see the Earth as if he’s the sky and looking down. The green girl represents the grass, the blue man could represent the ocean. When the blind boy sees Frank as yellow, he might be seeing the Sun shining through Frank. This goes on throughout the song as if there is a conversation between Frank and the sky". I think that's pretty profound!
