RIP A$AP Yams.

RIP

I've found these songs really matching! I think you should listen to them in this order to actually hear what I'm saying:

I wonder if this will affect the mobs and cutthroats sound in the future. Anyway, R.I.P. But I was never a big fan of Yams.

Joeys Album came out.

R.I.P Yams. I can't say I've listened to much ASAP Mob music, but it's sad when someone who found success in the genre passes away so young.

Can't wait to give B4.DA.$$ a listen some time this week. Everything I've heard from it has been strong.

Also, Lupe's 'Tetsuo & Youth' dropped today. Listening on Spotify now and it's actually very good. I've talked some sh*t about him being 'weird' recently, but the album is strong.

That new Joey Bada$$ is hella dope. Just listened to it a few hours while @ work and yeah that dude gets better with every project he does. I also have heard his two solo mixtapes too & he's one of the few rappers whos keeping it real and isn't some two faced, generic ass, swagger jacking, corporate sellout like most mainstream artist.

It's so hard to get into mainstream rap nowadays, all it is is the same generic three things, money, b*tches, and weed on top of a catchy hook and generic trap beat. That sh*t is straight up played out. And most sound like idiots using autotune to mask their terrible sounding stratchy, pubescent voice.

Thats commonly said, but most of the popular/mainstream rap in the 90s were about the same things. The only problem with the new school is that their not re-inventing the wheel every project they release, and your right, masking sh*tty skills with over done effects is really poor. But I think we need to look at things other then the content matter. Also the other issue is the detachment to the content their rapping about, if these guys could make their subject matter more believable even if its a noble subject or not, then I bet it would be more important to the listener. There is defiantly various rappers that dont have a deep strong voice that can make classics.

Anyway, listened to this last night and thought it was good:

I can't say I can relate to Lord Give Me a Sign but it's a pretty good song. I like Where The Hood At too. But I'm more of an Up In Here and Ruff Ryders Anthem kind of guy.

Since DMX is brought up, thought I would share my favorite song of him... The nostalgia it brings is huge for me :)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjwLPXArT8U

Skip to 37 seconds to skip skit, or don't. Either way, dope track

Edit: bonus track, some j Cole

I have never related to a song at 100% like I did with this one lol

Nostalgia meter reading is off the charts right now

Snoop, Daz, Kurupt, Nate, Warren G, Soopafly and the majoirity of the Dogg Pound Gangsta Crips weren't active crips in the 80's and early 90's. Snoop Dogg was an emcee and freestyler already making noise in the hood. Rapper Moe-Z was telling everyone about Snoop way before Warren G brought him to Dre. In the song ''Friends'' by the Eastsidaz, Tray Deee never address Snoop as a crip, although the whole concept of the song is about the rivalry between Rollin 20's (Goldie Loc) and Insane Crips (Tray Deee). If you are a Snoop Dogg fan, you'll notice Snoop only started claiming crip hard around the time he met Tray Deee (1995). Snoop was also getting beat up at the lable. Also, Doggy Dogg is seen as a snitch and coward in Long Beach. He's so hated down there, that all the money he gives to the crips isn't enough for them to respect him anymore. He now lives in Las Vegas. Daz actually grew up in Oklahoma, and moved to Long Beach not long before 1992. Very little is known about Daz actually. Daz is the one who repped DPG the most and stayed in Long Beach for a long time after his success but he moved to Atlanta in 2006 I think. Kurupt is a rumored Rollin 60's, direct ennemies of the Rollin 20's (Snoop, Daz, Nate, Warren G ''rumored set'') But Kurupt was already a freestyler making noise in the Crenshaw and Hawthorne district. In fact, Kurupt was getting beat real bad at Death Row. Nate Dogg served a 2 year stint in the marines. If you look at photos of the DPG, you'll notice Nate Dogg is the biggest and strongest looking member of the gang. He's also good at swinging golf clubs and throwing chairs. Warren G is the step brother of Dr. Dre. Little is known about the relation between Warren and Dre, but Dre was a tough brother to Warren, and Dre never really believed in Warren. Warren G is the most beat up artist in Death Row's history. Warren G was known to front alot about his crippin ways and was punked hard on numerous occasions. Soopafly went to college. Soopafly was actually a good kid and a good friend of Daz before the Death Row days. I don't know what is Soopalfy's ''supposed'' set, but he always claimed to be a crip and a pimp when he became a member of the Dogg Pound. You can't blame these guys for what they did, as Suge Knight was really managing Death Row as if it was a gang back in the day. He just took the most talented rappers in the streets, beat em up to put fear in them and forced them to act though. And then the whole Dogg Pound and the whole crippin movement came after. Real crips in the Dogg Pound family are: Big Tray Deee, Goldie Loc, Bad Azz, Trip Locc, Wayniac, and Big and Lil' C-Style.

That new Lupe album is great. Particularly love the opener, and closer, Prisoner 1 and 2 and also the Ab-Soul Feature. Some other great songs I'm overlooking there.

Nice surprise for an Album I didnt even know was coming out.

Run the Jewels going hard in a dope video for 'Lie, Cheat, Steal'. Not a bad song to be seen on that album.

And while I'm at it..EL-P visits a cat shelter to audition cats for Meow the Jewels. Pretty funny.

Belly of the Beast is the start to a great section of album. No. 99 and Christ Conscious following it. 3 fantastic songs worth listening to back to back to back.

Good time to re-re-re-interrogate him about Pac.

But yeah, I respect that he straight up owned up to this. I don't think there was much hiding away from it from what I read. I would guess it was an 'in the heat of the moment' accident, but Suge isn't a surprising name to see attached to this kind of news given his reputation.
