Do you ever listen to foreign (non-american) Hip-Hop music?

If yes, which country?

 

For me, it's Persian rap, as I'm Persian. Rap has been here for 20 years and there are many nice moves around here; from political to dirty!

I've listened to some French rap, though I couldn't tell you the artists. I don't really know what they're saying but you can still tell they know how to ride a good beat. Surprising how enjoyable it is.

 

 

Looked at my Emails this morning and EL-P/Killer Mike have released Run The Jewels 2 for free, obviously in the hopes that everyone then buys it/their merch. I'm D/L'ing it now and I'm excited to give this a listen. I think RTJ was one of my favourite albums of last year. I fully intend to pay for RTJ2.

 

 

 

EDIT: Yup, the album got me buzzing from the off. The beats are a relentless barrage of awesome for 9 tracks, and then the final two, Crown and Angel Duster compliment each other pretty well. How this album closes out may be the top highlight actually. I haven't paid heavy attention to the lyrics yet, I'll do that on the next spin. But musically, it's very enjoyable.

 

Worth a listen to see if you like it, at least.

I really enjoyed listening to Logic's debut album Under Pressure. My favorite tracks on this album are Nikki and Till The End

 

The beat is amazing on this one.

By the way, I love a lot of Rap groups such Black Star, The Fugees, A Tribe Called Quest, Gang Starr, Dilated Peoples, Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Beastie Boys, Brand Nubian, Group Home, Cypress Hill, Capone-N-Noreaga, Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony, NWA, MOP, Run-DMC, Public Enemy, Stetsasonic, Geto Boys, Above the Law, Compton's Most Wanted, Audio 2, Heltah Skeltah, Ruff Ryders, and many others... the list would be too long.

 

However, although I don't talk about Tupac so much, I consider him as an amazing artist; he was a great rapper, as well as a great actor. I encourage everyone to watch to GRIDLOCK'd, a pretty nice movie with a good plot and a beautiful soundtrack. In the meantime, here's a song featured in that movie:
