Apparently Kendrick Lamar was supposed to go on Shade 45 after Eminem and Royce on Saturday. He was going to debut a new single from Section #80 and also give us a release date. But Eminem ended up staying on air (note sure if Royce was still there) and took up Kendrick's spot. So now we have to wait another week. Damn, Eminem did Kendrick and his fans over good with that one. Also check out this animated GIF of Eminem and Royce from their new Complex cover story.

EDIT: Swizz Beats' and Lil Wayne's Anne finally leaked here. It's basically meant to be Stan 2.0. It's alright, nothing special. I wasn't expecting much though considering Swizz Beats' recent record. I particularly don't like the slight skip in the piano loop, and the high-pitched vocal sample doesn't bode well either.

Nas is gonna drop a new joint later on tonight. I presume it's going to be the Nasty single. Can't wait. Source. EDIT 2: Well here is the CDQ. Nas goes in but I think the beat needs to grow on me. It's got an old-school vibe to it though.

EDIT 3: Kanye West's Momma's Boyfriend finally leaked. Pretty nice, but it definitely sounds unfinished.

Came here to talk about these. Pretty awesome tracks to come home to after college. Was looking forward to Mamas Boyfriend since he performed it acapella at the Facebook offices. I do like it a lot, but does need to be mastered. Sounds almost College Dropout era 'Ye.

Was surprised to see Dear Anne produced by Swizz as I expected it to sound pretty trashy. Good sh*t considering, but there is deffo a noticeable skip and Stan 2.0 is a bit desperate.

New Nas is a f*cking throwback in a good way. This is what we want to hear, he's still got it. Life is Good should be crazy if this is anything to go by.

Here's my latest production, a video i produced of my latest song "Amen", filmed in Lugano Switzerland. Personally, i'm quite happy with the look of the video, considering i haven't been video editing for such a long time biggrin.gif Comments and ratings would be nice biggrin.gif Thanks to all wink.gif

Big Sean's album finally leaked. I'm not going to link it though since obviously the album has yet to come out and all the copyright rules. Either way, I'm pretty mixed about it so far, will take some more listening. Memories pt. 2 Feat John Legend is real nice, and he also goes in with Lupe on a track.

Agreed, the sample was very nostalgic and reminiscent of Kanye in his early years. That is most presumably why it didn't make the album, as the sound and theme didn't match the direction of it. Saying that, I actually preferred the A cappella. It had more energy and the vocals were very clear and felt more of a first hand story than the song did. Still a very good track regardless.

Eminem and Royce did a live stream earlier answering a bunch of questions. Nothing out of the ordinary, but the video was comical; Eminem is a complete joker. The 'don't know what to do with hands' thing seems to be a reoccurring joke.

Hilarious, but it's a pity they weren't being serious at all or even really answering the questions properly...Well Em At least. Royce is the only reason that chat stayed together for 20 minutes.

That new Nas is exactly what I wanted to hear today. High high hopes for the album after hearing that smile.gif

Mama's Boyfriend was sick, I've been waiting it forever, I think I was the one to post the Facebook video here.

Anyways, the track reminds me of College Dropout, with a bit of a new flavour though, but that's just positive. Has there been any talk about 'Ye's possible future projects? I'm just lost.

Another example of me being lost is that I didn't even know Weezy is putting out Carter IV. I haven't been hearing from him, last track I heard him on was Blood Nation, really. Anyways, I'm hearing more positive views on him nowadays, and him dropping stuff like this, no wonder.

I mean, I'm not trying to say it's magnificent but it's at least decent. Wayne could do better too, though. Didn't like the beat that much neither. BTW, I have obviously heard but I don't really remember Stan that much, what's it about etc, so comparison in that area is somewhat impossible for me.

I felt like a kid when the candy truck is coming when I red of Nas dropping a new joint on Twitter, and now it's here... Throwback like that, but it's magnificent.

The beat is a bit "too" simple, but it doesn't hurt at all, Nasir dropping rhymes of his level is enough to bless any beat.

Preparing for my NYC trip, Hovi has been putting me on a Brooklyn state of mind the last two weeks - I've been listening through my whole Jay-Z library, with Blueprint, Black Album and Dynasty on top.

His career, in general, adds irony to his classic Never Change gem, despite I'm not the regular guy who says Jay fell off, he just is not as good as he used to be, but this all just makes me smile while listening to these "oldies".

I know this is nothing new, but I just wanted to rant sigh.gif

EDIT - Talking about Hov', saw this on the Roc4Life website:

In this never-before-seen video, Jay-Z makes a case for the political and conscious thought behind rap music. Contrary to your grandma's assertion, rap isn't a bunch of gibberish laced to a catchy beat. Jay cites Biggie Smalls and Rakim as prime examples of poetic emcees.

"Some of the things Biggie wrote," says Jay, "if you take those lyrics and pull them away from music and put them up on the wall, someone will say, 'This is genius...this is genius work.'"

And I co-sign every single word Hov' said, there really isn't anything that I've got to add to his words - I have always viewed rap somewhat like this, and it's really frustrating to see ignorant people claim that rap is just speaking nonsense words in rhytmn - it's not about how your word's rhyme, it's what those rhyming words mean, that's how to define real rap. I think about six billion people should watch this video and learn from Jay's words.

Speaking of Pac, Jimmy Henchman is going to be in deep water after the man who shot Pac at Quad studios November 7th 1994 confessed that Henchmen payed him $2, 500 for the hit. Source. Pac said it in Against All Odds.

In addition to that, a Kanye West representative has revealed that the beat, or as they call it "soundbed", for Mamma's Boyfriend is not by Kanye.

Finally Cole released his first single entitled "Work Out". Cole is getting a lot of stick for it. But I like it, well the sample at least. Sounds like some G-funk sh*t. The problem for me with Cole's production is that he is still using the same 'meh' sounds; you know, drum kits, basslines, etc. I reckon this beat would be killer if it had better drums and such. Cole isn't that good lyrically on here either. I know it's a track for the ladies, but it doesn't mean he can't be lyrical. You don't necessarily have to throw out quadruple entendres and crazy wordplay to be lyrical. I will be playing this a lot, but just for the awesome sample. Although, you can't front on the cover art:

EDIT: Game's new single is here. F*ck this sh*t, seriously. Someone knock some sense into Game. *bumps Doctor's Advocate instead* EDIT 2: Damn, Waka already used the same beat on a mixtape back in February:

Producers need to take better care of their beats, this seems to happen all the time. 50 Cent's So Disrespectful using the beat from a Killer Mike record and Eminem's Not Afraid being used by Maino at pretty much the same time being a few notable examples. I wish Game's A&R never gave him the beat CD with this sh*t on. Even She Wanna Have My Baby is miles better than this. I just played both tracks at the same time in sync, needless to say my head almost imploded. It was kinda funny though. Edited by gamesguru

I wish that we could just get to know who murdered 'Pac, but it's interesting to know about the 94 shooting.

And that album cover is just... WOW! That ass got me carried away totally.

Currently listening to Hell: The Sequel. Liking what I've heard after 3 tracks. Who's the guy doing the hook on "Fast Lane"? Sounds like Nate Dogg (R.I.P.)

His name is Sly Hook. He is another one of Dre's in-house artists. I don't know if he is actually signed to Aftermath, but he does a lot of work within that circle of people. He is the same guy on Kush.

Just a couple of new tracks:

Game - I'm On - Mars leaked the snippet before, but now here is the full version. This puts Bottles & Rocking J's to shame. This is only at a mixtape level though.

50 Cent - Outlaw - A "hype" single for the new album. It will most probably not be on the album itself fortunately. This is just as boring as the other half a dozen tracks he dropped a while back. It is the same sub-par material recycled again and again. Better than Bottles & Rockin J's though....

Kendrick Lamar ft RZA - Ronald Reagan Era - Now this is dope as f*ck. After this and the previous two singles, I'm definitely hyped for Section #80. This is how you are meant to hold the Westcoast down.

Also, if you have a few hours to spare, and A LOT of patience, this RapFix live interview with Juelz Santana may just be for you. In short, Lil B was meant to come on later on in the show and premier a new song, but Juelz took up all the air-time. I'm talking about hours of him just waffling incoherently. Sway would ask him a simple question over and over and he would just start giving his life story. He also kept cutting Sway off, but some of the sh*t he came out with was gold. When you thought he was finished....nope, another life story. Sway even said "We out! Finally" at the end in a sigh of relief. The KanyeToThe topic had me rolling. Not for the weak of heart though.

Another J. Cole track leaked called Cheer Up. I believe this was going to be the original single. This is unfinished, but hopefully we will here the finished version of this and Lost Ones. This is what I'm talking about, the production on this is great and if this is produced by Cole then it is great to see him finally switch it up and improve. But then again it could be by somebody else like No I.D. Be careful of the tiny glitch at the start of the video.

I like J. Cole's music, but I think it's stupid when people compare him to Jay Electronica.

Anyway, here's a sick freestyle and some tracks by Bloodshed, one of the most underrated rappers imo:

I seriously don't appreciate the way Chris Brown's trying to become a wannabe-rapper these days. he should undoubtedly stick to R&B.

I'm certainly digging the 2 free tracks released by Drake..namely, Dreams Money Can Buy& Marvins Room..I seriously love the way he's always been consistent with his work..[Well, Thank Me Later did have a few let-down tracks here and there, but still, I've got high expectations from Take Care]

My favourite song from Jehst's new album, The Dragon Of An Ordinary Family.

Jehst - England.

The production on his new album is really good. I dunno if I have a favourite song from it, there's loads of good ones.

I like to play two different rappers back to back and pretend that they are battling each other like in 8 mile. I'll do like, Nas vs Jeru the Damaja with only DJ Premier beats.

It is quite entertaining

Coming from the man, IMO, got most of his fame from the G-Unit / Game beef. Doesn't make sense, I enjoy beef, especially what Game did to 50 and G-Unit, when it gets outta control it needs to be stopped, but I think they need to bring back good 'ol beef raps, especially when a little bitch like Chris Brown, who has no right to call any rapper whack, is calling out good artist.

Your voice isn't too bad for it, you just need some rhythm, have you hear the song Protect your neck by Wu-tang?

WEll here it is, try making a rap to that rhythm, maybe even copy the song and see how you go.
