Love the T.I track. That beat makes him sound alot more chilled compared to everything else he's been on thus far even though he double times his flow. They both have totally different flows but it works. I prefered Royce on the 'Echos' track. But it doesn't matter as long as they're both doing their thing.

Going from that nice intro/chorus to Eminem shouting just doesn't work. Quit the shouting Em. I really like the subject matter though.

Damn, that's more like it. I think Dr.Dre may have a more 'mature' subject matter with this album, seeing as he has said Kush would be the only song of its type on Detox, if it is on the album. Which goes back to when Dre wanted Detox to be a story about one kid; of course the idea seemingly disappeared, which is a shame. I think there should be some West-Coast sounds layered into the album however. Regardless, this is a good track. The only thing that irritates me is that Flanging effect, which usually DJs like DJ Skee use on mixtapes. I presume Dre added that onto the track, as opposed to Alex Da Kidd who composed it. Alex Da Kidd should have more recognition, he has been coming with some crazy beats. The same with Scoop Deville. Where is the love for producers nowadays?

 

As for Eminem's shouting, it is starting to irritate me a little. To me it seems his flow doesn't alternate very much at all now. The shouting does not work all of the time. It's becoming a problem, because the flow is very similar throughout his features now. On Recovery it wasn't that bad, with not all the songs having Eminem ear-rape the instrumental. It seems he has mistaken this aggressive voice as fulfillment of passion and emotion. He needs to step out of his comfort-zone and experiment, because screaming and shouting doesn't always equal emotion. I've noticed Eminem tends to get up to a really good punchline or the end of a verse and he then raises his voice higher and increases the speed that he is saying his words and then stops. I've heard it soooo many times now, again which goes back to him not alternating his flow.

 

It's not like he can't rap without shouting, as tracks on Recovery and tracks just before it have proven. Same with Relapse, he had that accent, but he proved he could rap without it on Beautiful and Déjà Vu. Don't get me wrong, that whole shouting 'thing' can work, I think it will work on Session Two, but on tracks like All She Wrote and Love The Way You Lie Part 2, he sounds as if he is forcing the voice, and it doesn't sound natural. Which is a shame, because his lyrics have been on a whole 'nother page as of late.

Can you guys tell me something? I got this song and I'm not sure if this effect was suppose to be on it or if it was added. It happens near the start of Em 2 verses and on the course before Dres verses and when Dre is doing his verse. I'd check myself but it seem to be being pull off everywhere.

It's meant to be on there, that was the Flanging effect I was just talking about. People are wondering if the song is going to be on Detox, or a Recovery re-release, which seems likely. Alex Da Kidd started the rumours when he mentioned a new Eminem single being released before Christmas, and now you have an Alex Da Kidd song with Eminem on it. The puzzle is piecing together.

I went to see them on Sunday, and the sets were great. Little Dragon and then De La Soul started their own parts of the concert not soon after the doors opened. So if you don't want to miss some music before the Gorillaz, I'd advise you to not get there too late.

Awesome, did you get standing? De La Soul didn't play in the end. Was in the Queue bang on half 6 when the doors opened to make sure, they ran late and only Little Dragon played their set (Didn't really like them) Very disappointed about them not performing as a support act.

 

Everyone went ape sh*t for DARE. Highlight.

Sorry to hear that De La Soul didn't have a set. Because the old-school Hip-Hop had the crowd very hyped. Not to make you feel disappointing. I actually enjoyed Little Dragon's set. I haven't heard their material outside of the Gorillaz, so it was surprising, that to me, the production was akin to some of the material on Plastic Beach.

 

I was seated. It would have been nice to be in standing, but when I ordered tickets online (even on the day they publicly went on sale), I couldn't get any better. Either tickets in standing were sold out for the first day, or the 02 Arena site sucks ass.

I was seated as well, I wasn't in a standing mood after travelling there, so quite glad. My dislike might have been because I had been sitting and waiting since half 6 and Little Dragon came on after the delay, it was about half 8 before they performed. I was a little impatient and didn't really care for them by that point. I agree they did have a sound familiar to PB.

I've been out. Besides, I feel the songs is somewhat mundane; nothing really is unique or exciting about it, at least for me. When the snippet was released I didn't like it, and I still don't. And again, Eminem's voice has become predictable.

 

In other news, music fans PERIOD, may want to check out this insightful and warming article documenting the creation of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by a writer who was apart of the process. It's actually quite interesting, and there is some really interesting images in the gallery too, which I may use for some future avatars/signatures. Link

 

From the reviews, it seems Kanye's latest project may be a masterpiece. Pitchfork recently gave it a perfect 10, and it is probably the best review I've read from the 'pack' available. It's well written and in-depth, so you may want to give it a read here.

 

If Lupe Fiasco & Joe Budden are my lyrical inspirations, then Kanye is my producing(?) one. Do I sound excited for this album? Hell yes!

I really like the chorus they have going on in that song. Hunger For More 2 dropped along with Kanye's aforementioned Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Anyone copped them today or plan on doing so? I've got them both on my Christmas list
