"I hope this guy isn't staying here. suicidal.gif " Me?

To: Gamesguru

I don't think it's a nonsensical topic :-) It's nice to share opinions on different things.

Of course food and shelter are necessities! His mother didn't have to give him anything though she could've just left him somewhere and walked off instead of raising him... Anyway, I think just doing what he done was kinda petty.

And the song you posted has been taken down;

-----------------------

That's such a smooth song Canofceleri!

-----------------------

I like all hip-hop but hip-hop from the U.K. will always have my full attention.

Blade is another of my favourite artists:

Aswell as Lewis Parker;

He is an amazing music producer too. You should listen to some of his beats, or his songs.

Thanks for the heads-up on the video guys. It was bound to happen at some point. It's still viewable in certain countries however. It is most probably blocked in North America. As for me calling the topic of discussion 'nonsensical', maybe I could of used a better word. What I meant was, that it strayed far from the topic of Rap/Hip-Hop and was going into a more political and social debate. I don't personally mind it, but I believe some people that visit here may find that annoying if it continued for too long.

King, it's from Rihanna's new up coming album Loud.

EDIT: Not the first time YouTube has contradicted itself, but funny nevertheless:

Someone mentioned it in a comment for Roman's Revenge, but Eminem really does sound like he's having a heart attack in every verse he does; it's never been that extreme when he shouts. It worked to great sucess on Recovery, but in the post Recovery material it doesn't always seem to fit well with the other artist. (Maybe that's just a negative on the Nicki song) But I recognise that the energy and emotion gets the point across in Pt 2.

It sounded good when he was going at a normal tone at the start but clearly his blood pressure increased 2 lines in. Actually sounds really good overall for an unfinished version. Rihanna does her thing and because of the shout rapping, Em's verse reminded me A LOT of Kim (PG'd) No doubt this will be played in the clubs just as much as Part 1 has been suicidal.gif

Ha ha, nice. I was actually listening to Ready To Die on my mp3-player the other day. It was a long journey I was taking, so I just zoned out to that.

Saw Joey speaking about this on Twitter yesterday. But now:

See Budden writing up his verse

.

I'm still waiting for Mood Muzik 4. I'm growing inpatient due to teasing like this. I'm a huge Slaughterhouse Stan. Finding interviews, videos, unreleased tracks (etc) wherever I can. Unbelievably they still get better and better. Crooked I especially, as far as production goes. I've been hearing good things about Royce too recently. Like there has been a certain hunger in him. I hope his verse is phenomenal on Remember The Titans, because that has been hyped all the way to Kingdom Come.

We need a second Slaughterhouse album already! A bit more versatility (subject matter) and more consistent high quality production (ie Just Blaze), and then we have the making of a seriously dope sophomore album. Also, Joell Ortiz' Free Agent album is to be released on November 30th, but for the life of me I can't find anywhere to order it. The tracklisting was released (link), with the only disappointment for me being the exclusion of Project Boy.

That was a cool song!

What!? "wutsthisb: I'd drag my dick through 4 miles of broken glass just to sniff that girls dirty panties"

It's on the chat box on that video...

mercie_blink.gif Anyway...

What is some good hip-hop going about right now in the United States? I don't listen to much from their country. I like it though.

I have been listening to Rodney P, Braintax and a lot of Skinnyman over the last five days.

This song is playing now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VS36zW2Zgs Braintax - Future Ghost

A lot of people don't like Braintax...

This is one of his best songs, I think.

Escuchame!

Lupe Fiasco goes nuts with this one:

If you didn't know, Soulja Boy mentioned Lupe Fiasco in a XXL interview by saying he didn't want to be 'Super Lupe Lyrical'. Because it's something "niggas don't understand". The funniest thing being that he says this, as if he is capable of doing it. He said he wants to show some growth on his new album, but I highly doubt what growth means to him, is what growth means to us. Lupe mentions that in the track above. Take a listen, because the lyrics are something else. Additionally, Lupe's single The Show Goes On has grown on me. I like it, but I stand by my sentiments that it still feels watered-down and somewhat mainstream catered. Saying that, it is still better than most singles.

Anyway, I got Mood Muzik 4 in the post today (finally!), so I'm going to listen to that in a moment. I should be getting Cee-Lo's new album in a few days also, so I can't wait for that.

Lupe goes hard. Yeah, I hope he doesn't end up going too mainstream after such a long wait for his next project. He's had a totally spotless run so far, but then, Superstar was mainstream and I still think that's a brilliant addition to 'The Cool'

There's a leaked version of Lloyd bank's track 'Celebrity' featuring Akon and Eminem. The version on the album will only feature Akon. Craaazy song, Lloyd's quality, Akon does his soulful background singy thing and Em nuts as usual. It's probably because it's an unfinished and scrapped version, but Em definitely doesn't feel right on the track. Doesn't vibe with Akon well.

Why does Kel Mitchell have a beard but more importantly why is he trying to rap?

So glad the new Michael Jackson album 'Michael' tracklist isn't covered in features. Only 3, 2 (1) being hip hop...I suppose. Akon and 50 Cent and also Lenny Kravitz (?). Is Akon hip hop/ever really been hip hop? I can't decide.

01. Breaking News

02. Hold My Hand Ft. Akon

03. Hollywood Tonight

04. Keep Your Head Up

05. (I Like) The Way You Love Me

06. Monster Ft. 50 Cent

07. Best Of Joy

08. (I Can’t Make It) Another Day

09. Behind The Mask

10. Much Too Soon

50 Cent surprised me a lot, but I like the fact MJ was always keeping up with who was 'hot' at the times of the recordings and never stuck in old trends. How will 50 Cent and Michael Jackson sound together? It'll be interesting.

50 cent and Akon on a Michael Jackson record is f*cking horrifying. suicidal.gif

Agreed the worst thing they can do with an artists unreleased is mess with it by remixing it with people who had nothing to do with the artist personally. Sure I get they respect him and everything then make a freaking tribute song don't f*cking desecrate the work left behind.

Akon was a close friend of Michael Jackson's, along with will.i.am. Both of whom recorded numerous tracks with MJ. Michael Jackson was also a fan of 50 Cent and Game, suggesting they end their infamous rivalry during its early stages. The original report mentions that all of the tracks on the album were recorded prior 2007, so I don't believe there is any 'additions' treatment to the compositions, tacked on features, nor any 'remixes' on this album.

Although I don't think the features will be something that would favour fans, or the quality of the album. I don't think it would detract from it, but if anything the features will create a sense of confusion among fans and listeners. I think the album will be good, but nothing spectacular. If recent Michael Jackson leaks are anything to go by.

EDIT: Just this minute J.Cole's new mixtape dropped, download it here!

Oh oh! New Jay Electronica incoming.....

EDIT - Today is a good day for Hip-Hop:

[Video may be blocked in your country, so here is a permanent link.]

EDIT 2 - Oh, but it gets better:

[Video may be blocked in your country, so here is a permanent link.]

Sorry for spamming the topic with all these tracks. But lets put it into perspective. Would you ever believe such odds to be possible? Two Jay Electornic joints, a Bad Meets Evil track and a new Dr.Dre single. Of which I think is pretty good, I can't stop playing it (love that guitar effect in the background). It's not '10yrs in the making' good, but it is a sure step-up from Under Pressure.

All in the span of 24Hrs.

Better than Under Pressure. A LOT.

Dre's just going for what will sell. Doesn't sound terrible, anyone else and everyone would be saying it's a pretty good song for the mainstream. But face it, Dr Dre hasn't been real West Coast or G Funk for a decade, and neither has Snoop relatively recently. I think it's pretty good, I was bobbing my head for sure, great beat.

now to listen to the other joints.

Em and Royce is pure fire. Feels good to hear those voices sharing bars again. Bad Meets Evil, man. J. Elec tracks are dope. I haven't listened to anything from him before so I don't have much to compare it to, but no doubt he'll be up on another level with Jay Z.

EDIT: Can't believe i'm hearing DMX going this hard on a track in 2010. Thought he was going to be locked up for years. He sounds exactly like he did in the The Great Depression or Flesh of my Flesh... era. He hasn't changed a second. High hopes for both his new projects Walk With Me Now and You'll Fly With Me Later. Busta goes on his bullsh*t too on an actually good Swizz Beatz beat.

EDIT 2: Going to see GORILLAZ at the O2 Arena tonight. De La Soul are one of the supporting acts biggrin.gif

EDIT 2: Going to see GORILLAZ at the O2 Arena tonight. De La Soul are one of the supporting acts biggrin.gif

I went to see them on Sunday, and the sets were great. Little Dragon and then De La Soul started their own parts of the concert not soon after the doors opened. So if you don't want to miss some music before the Gorillaz, I'd advise you to not get there too late. wink.gif

As for DMX, he was pretty good on the track. Busta Rhymes too. However DMX has jumped on the 'diss Jay-Z' bandwagon. It's most probably because he is bitter. Being in jail for a very long and multiple times, and he probably doesn't have much in the way of money anymore. Whilst Jay-Z is the ultimate icon of success in Hip-Hop.
