Notorious BIG - Me & My Bitch

Normally, it's a good track, but over the Computer Love instrumental it's raw.

That new Kanye West song is amazing. Can't wait for Good ass Job if the material will be like that.

LL Cool J and Eminem will be on Jonathan Ross next week (UK) I'm guessing LL's either got a sh*tty movie or another sh*tty album coming out soon (Exit 13 is not a good example of an album) and this may be Eminem's first live performance of Not Afraid.

Looking forward to it icon14.gif

Am I the only one who thinks em's track listing is fake.

dude i have a feeling its fake because for it not to have a single feature from any of his labels roster such as D12, Dr Dre, Slaughterhouse, Stat Quo or Cashis. I mean come on I know hes trying a different direction but seriously rhianna? I honestly can't see that song working at all but from the terrible tracklists and moves made by aftermath and many artists on interscope its safe to say jimmy iovine strikes again. Aftermath hasn't put out any new artists or let the roster get on with promoting and making the music it just seems to me that jimmy and his shareholders are too pussy to let the talent they have signed have a shot look at Stat Quo he was there for what 5 years and then Bishop Lamont was there for like 4 years both definitely could have broken into the mainstream if the marketing and promotion was done correctly this days it just seems like interscope/aftermath are too busy pushing headphones and talking sh*t in interviews about other unrelated stuff when all the fans want is the music out there to be purchased sinc many have invested time into following these artists careers and just want to see them get the recognition they deserve.

It's on the front page of Eminem.com so I highly doubt it's fake.

It's going to be a pretty deep no nonsense album judging by the names, and if you've listened to Rihanna's 'Rated R' album then you can see why she would work well with RECOVERY's theme. 'Rated R' was a pretty sombre affair as well. Also it's perfect single material for Em.

However I can't explain Pink, again probably just used as single material.

Attorney General

@Gantons Most Wanted. Well said, sir. I'm not a huge fan of Cashis, Stat or Bishop Lamont, but I love D12 and for em to allow six friggin years go by without letting them release an album is some bullsh*t. I know they put a bunch of stuff out through green lantern back in the day and it was gold. Of course there's Proof's death and I read Swift got locked up. But I'm with you on the fact that Em rests on his laurels a little too much.

Didn't Obie walk because of that? He was an absolute gem. Haven't heard a word from him in years now.

As for Em's new stuff. Yeah, agreed DOOM. I loved his work up right up through the Eminem Show, but outside of a track or two, I haven't really been able to get into his last 2 albums.

A stupid line, yes, but considering he's killed every guest spot he's gotten recently, retarded is a very poor choice of words.

Eminem is too calm nowadays, the anger that fueled his first 2 albums is pretty much gone and it will never come back no matter how much people want it to. Too bad because he used to be f*cking fantastic but now he's just good icon14.gif

Eminem peaked with infinite. Yeah I said it. Getting rich took away his motivation.

Yeah, yo, Till I Collapse is a great example on Eminem's flow, as is Lose It, he has the ability to spit with anger and the ability to spit like a maniac, for example (from The Real Slim Shady):

You little bitch, put me on blast on MTV

"Yeah, he's cute, but I think he's married to Kim, hee-hee!"

I should download her audio on MP3

and show the whole world how you gave Eminem VD [AHHH!]

But now? In Relapse, he sounds like Benjamin Button growing backwards and has a weirdly high chipmunk style voice through the whole album, but clearly, after Relapse he has gotten more like he should be, Despicable is very aggressive and so on, so it's all about his skill of going back a lil' bit to see if Recovery will be fire.

Sure, there will be a bunch of 11 years buying the album anyways tounge.gif

I agree with you on Cashis the guy boasted and bragged too much for my liking and as for the stuff hes put out i can truly say only 3 tracks really swayed me due to the production on those specific tracks. Stat and Bishop don't get much of the recognition they deserve alot of the mixtapes they have done are very dope compared to a lot of these new rappers that people make a big deal about. Obie saw the situation coming so he bailed last i heard he was working on his 3rd album and still had a couple of Dre beats to use from prior releases he held onto the worst part is D12 is known worldwide and could chart relatively well.

Have been, really tight J Dilla style production on all their sh*t.

If you like them you may like these guys as well.

@Em: I'd like to see him drop one seriously Hip Hop focused album before his career ends.

He made a great success out of talking about himself and exploiting his angst like a Hip Hop, Kurt Kobain.

I'd like to hear one song without hearing, "Me, myself and I" just talking about the music and what that's meant over the last 30 years.

Compared to Slim Shady and Marshall Mathers LP......yes, very much so.

The 'immaturity' on Relapse sounded incredibly forced where as before it would flow so easy. You can tell it's not what he wants to rap about anymore, but it's what he was told to do for the album. He was in his true zone on Beautiful...and Beautiful only.

Don't forget Déjà vu:

Also, I've seen have hits conversation many times before. Usually the fans want this 'immature' Eminem whilst the critics and want and evolvement, either way Eminem can't win. In my opinion Eminem's continued (key word) success is from tracks like When I'm Gone, Toy Soldiers, Lose Yourself, etc. I think the likes of Marshal Mathers LP worked as the flow was smooth, the lyrics were smartly layered and the rhymes were witty. I agree with you kippers, on both Encore & Relapse forced the immaturity too much.

It doesn't just apply to Eminem. To a lot of artists and groups. For instance take Jurassic 5 (I mentioned this in the Studio Q-13 topic before), they have this old-skool style and production. Which is what made them popular (to their fan base). However the critics call the style outdated and that they need update with times, but then the fans would obviously complain about the change. Because obviously it wouldn't be 'Jurassic 5', it would be 'Jurassic 5 trying to keep up with what's on the radio'. I'd have to agree with the fan base when it comes to Jurassic 5 however, mainly because I love Jurassic 5.

@meta187: What about Infinite?

I always site that album because I kind of feel that's more who he is as a person.

Slim Shady is the persona who launched him to fame and pandered to a younger audience and was genuinely entertaining but he's a bit grown now. His roots were in underground Hip Hop. He was a true Hip Hop fan and emcee prior to any of this. I'd like to see him hook up with classic DJ's like Premier, Richie Rich and Prince Paul to do a return to form, "this is what I love about Hip Hop, f*ck a catchy hit single" Hip Hop album. Not necessarily an "old school" album persay just one that is straight skills, sharp verses and dope classic beats no f*cking Nickelback sounding bitches singing on the hook.

Indeed it is. Hilarious too, especially I Hate Your Pants.

Another problem I found other than the annoying Whoo Kid sound-bites and name drops is that the production is somewhat awful. Not the actual beat selection, but the quality. The sound levels and volumes are all over the place The best example is Beamer, Benz & Bentley and Flight 187 where the sound is constantly going up and down. I presume that was down to Whoo Kid's terrible mixing.

The standalone leaks were better.

I hope it's because it leaked, but apparently Street Hop had a similar problem.

EDIT: Here we go:

I hope y'all don't mind me posting so many new mixtapes, but it's mixtape season all year! What's cool (I guess) is that even though 90% of the stuff on the radio and on albums is terrible, with mixtapes it's the complete polar opposite. Endless amounts of quality. I've already listened to Cocainism 2, pure dopeness throughout.

Yeah, thanks, put I was looking for more Raekwon actually. I already know most of the others. I have the new GG, but not listened? How is it actually? Is Pill lyrically strong?

EDIT: Does anybody have the cover for Gangsta Grillz: The Pimp Squad (Special Edition) (by P$C ofcourse)? I have covers for everything in iTunes, but this is the only one that's empty and it looks so ugly.

I haven't listened to Pill's new mixtape yet. But from the leaks, I don't think it is as good as his previous efforts however. The final master of Power has been released. Not much different, but the cover has been revealed:
