I've heard Papoose is notorious for the ridiculously "corny" punchlines. He recently said that he was the "mixtape king". I haven't heard the guy's material myself, so I couldn't judge. But Papoose hasn't dropped anything in years, maybe the odd song, but a mixtape? How can you be the "mixtape king" when you aren't releasing any.......mixtapes?

Also, new Drizzy:

Really digging this joint. Has a nice laid-back Summer Vibe.

I can see this getting a few spins come Summer Time.

I don't know why, but i'm really liking this one by Drake 'Find Your Love' It's all singing, but it's cool imo. Probably become a guilty pleasure song.

The video looks pretty swish as well but it's not on youtube.

I think Drake is a lot of people's 'Guilty Pleasure'. Well, unless your female. I like Drake's stuff a lot, it's just mellow. I guess I'm more into the production side of things if anything, and less so Drake. But of course it comes as a package. However, I can't really get into the Find Your Love track for some reason. Shut It Down is where it's at. Over is starting to irritate me though, everyone is blaring it out their God-damn phones in college. If you was a 'true' fan, you would've played that sh*t months ago, not when the radio dictated it to you angry.gif .

As for the song I posted. Turns out it's two years old, and is in fact a Jhené Aiko track. Still, nice song.

Old Drake is killing New Drake creatively. Room For Improvement & Comeback Season are his best work. So Far Gone was his transition into what he is now. I still like him, but I will never forget what he once was capable of doing lyrically and creatively. Way too many reference punchlines, and way too much singing now days, but I still have hope for Thank Me Later.

I completely agree. However, even though his music is now somewhat more mainstream, and at times aimed at the ladies. I still really enjoy his music.

Anyway, does anybody know any good production tutorials? I'm looking on how to use a Sample Machine as I'm thinking of buying one in the future. They seem pretty simple to use, but it would still be nice to know what I'm doing, so my foot is firmly put in the door.

MAAAAN!

Eminem just can't stop (kind of) breaking records!

'Not Afraid' only the second rap track to ever break in at number 1 on the Billboard 100 and almost 4 Hundred Thousand digital downloads for a non-pop first single? Insane numbers....also something about being only the 16th to do something...i can't quite follow what the top part of that article is saying. I've been drinking so maybe it's going straight over my head.

Sadly, Not Afraid has climbing ever higher on my top played tracks on my ipod. I knew all the lyrics by like the 2nd day of release blush.gif

but this REA...whatever face video is off the heeezzzaaayy!

I mean i'm so jealous of the lighting set up they have going on here. The way he's in the shadow for most of the song because they only have 1 key light on the right is a true innovation to the game!

EDIT: On a serious note, I saw Date Night earlier this evening. I had NO idea Common was in the film. Took me completely by surprise and instantly made the film awesome. It was actually a great film regardless of him being there. Unfortunately I was the only person to recognise him...He was given a pretty good part as well.

Yeah, I remember watching Street Kings and kinda getting bored, but Game made it instantly watchable.

While Weezy signs artists and Twilight actors become hip-hoppers, some good music also drops.

New Eminem:

The beat fails but the lyrics don't; so looking forwards to Styles P's next album!

I don't think that's completely new Eminem. It's an old leaked diss track from around the Encore era from what I've heard. Evidence? The accent and the fact Em's said he's done with beefing. Why that's decided to leak at this very moment amongst everything else which is accent free, i don't know. It will confuse the general public.

Yeah, I heard that unreleased Stat Quo joint last night. Definitely around the Encore period, from Eminem's flow to Dre's production. I love that 'Pray For Me' sample. I think both did a good job on the vocals, and I'm even going to go as far as saying that not only did Stat Quo withhold his own, but even bettered Eminem in my opinion.

I've been listening to some Clipse lately:

^I wish that had an instrumental.

^I love that beat. Clipse always have insane production, that is also very good for Freestyling. I was practising on that I'm Serious Instrumental, and ended coming out with some clever stuff.

I got Distant Relatives in the post this morning. Just finished listening to it, and all I can say is "WOOOW!!!!!". Another classic album this year. The quality of music is still growing (as has been seen over the last few years), it is such a shame that such quality is not commercially viable however. Still, I'm happy I didn't listen to any leaks or anything like that. It was worth that wait. I know this album is going to be in my rotation for a long time coming.

I'm loving this one, along with The Reserves by Capone-N-Noreaga & Raekwon (thanks to Cheat for showing me that one):

This one's awesome too, I heard it first at DUB Houston 2009:

Anybody know where I can get that Gucci knit hat? I remember Jim Jones wearing it too in an issue of XXL.

No problem Eduard smile.gif

I've made a personal decision regarding Distant Relatives, after hearing As We Enter and (now) Dispear, I'm not going to listen to anything else from the album until I get to buy it, hopefully later this month. It's sounding so really good and especially real that I feel like I have got to support it by really buying it.

Can't wait to lock into the music room and listen to it, from beginning to end, it's going to be a really good experience.

I think you guys know where I heard this track...

I had to buy Distant Relatives as it's far too good to ignore or download. Nas and Damian deserve the money and support for such a deep, powerful and true record. 'Patience' is my personal favourite off the album. It's beautiful. Shame it's not commercially viable material, but anyone who wants to witness a true partnership in music, this needs to be heard.

Even though both Nas and Damian came hard on the album I think Damian slightly steals the spotlight, his style and flow are just so smooth it completely overshadows Nas. I find myself drifting off into a trance bobbing my head when listening to Marley. Really considering checking out his Solo material/the reggae genre in general now.

It's great seeing them bounce off each other in their performances.
