Pimpin' ain't eaaaaaaasy. Just put up the track on YT and had to deal with the same copyright thing that blocked it last time but it's now up currently.

And what the hell has happened with Royce's Street Hop. I heard they took out one of Premo's songs.

I'm really hoping if that this Em/Slaughterhouse rumor is true, Shady doesn't fu*k up their album and keep it in limbo or something. Relapse 2 definitely has a lot more potential now, and I'm also feelin' the idea of Tech jumping on a track with Em, finally.

Since when has Em ever ruined a track? He's made a few dope, but never ruined any.

I am hella loving that Maino mixtape, the Cory Gunz one is sick to, though the DJ Drops are getting f*cking annoying.

Holla at Inspectah Deck!

The-King clears throat

*---*

Greatest beat in hip-hop history hands down. In my opinion at least.

ARGH, you beat me to it. As soon as I hear Deck's name, that song is the first to pop in my mind for being the one that made me interested in him as a rapper more than just a Wu-Tang member.

Possibly my all time favourite hook this one.

In case you are wondering where the 'voodoo' part comes from, here ya go:

Also, three of the best rappers ever in one song, the new song I'm addicted to now:

Thanks for that Flesh, never heard any of X Clan's stuff before, but I'm listening to them now; some epic stuff.

That song is the truth. Guru is kinda off-beat but his lyrics are so interesting that you wont even think about that.

What the hell is this?

Edit:

I also was browsing Youtube and I found an extremely sarcastic account that people actually believe is true. It's good for a laugh and he has some funny ass comments.

Now there also seems to be a problem that I noticed when people refer to "old school" and "new school". People act as if OS is all the 80s and NS is right now. OS is supposed to be the early 80s (Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Flash) and NS is supposed to be the rest of the 80s (LL Cool J, Rakim). Is that correct?

Yes. Old School was early 80s with the likes of Kurtis Blow and new school was when Run DMC took hip hop to the mainstream world. Late 80s to mid 90s (86-95) is called golden age and the rest has no name.

As for that account, lmao, people actually take it seriously. Speaking of that Guru song, his new album contains four songs using auto-tune it's obvious he wants to f*ck up his own career. Not to mention, he's not doing any good sales wise either. Half of his fans have completely boycotted his choice to go with some sucky "SUPERPRODUCER" aka Solar.

That's spot on XAF226. Old-Skool (or school, whatever, it's all the same) was very late 70s to mid 80s I believe. New-Skool was the middle half of the 80s and Golden Age being Late 80s to mid 90s. Lol at today's rap not having a name though, whats that tell you? sly.gif

I just call everything before 1999 old-skool because I use it as its general term (classic, back in the day, etc) instead of it's periodic time in Hip-Hop and/or genre. So whenever I say Old-Skool from now, you'll know what I mean lol.gif .

I was practicing over the Warm It Up Kane beat earlier today, I think it matches my flow perfectly (moderately fast is my preference; I can rap really fast, but I don't like going too fast that it's difficult for people to hear the words). So that'll be one of the first beats I'll use when getting around to recording. Just hope I can find the instrumental (EDIT - Yep, loads on YT).

Anyway, Lupe's latest single, rather old now, but the chorus never gets old:

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Hip hop nowadays is nowhere nearly as good as it was two decades ago but does that mean everything is sh*t? Those "names" are pretty stupid and some people try to be like that only to fit in with the "anti-mainstream"/"anti-modern hip hop" movement. I give credit where it's due, indeed there are 10 times more wack rappers nowadays than there was during the golden days but that doesn't mean you have to forget about all the real talents who happened to get a record deal during the era owned mainly by wack MCs.

Actually, those names were meant to apply to whack ass clowns like Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy not all modern mainstream rappers.

Also I think that the "Mainstream" could go back to how it was back in the day if more pirate radio stations that played underground artist were to pop up plus there's also the internet to help.

EDIT: There's also the the chance of an Underground-Mainstream war happening in the future.

How do you want anyone to take you seriously when you listen to the likes of Insane Clown Posse. If anyone is a clown its you little guy.

The thing is, it is allot easier to get in the rap game now due to the new forms of media distribution, like the internet. However, that means allot less talent is needed, and half the time those without any talent will opt for songs that just shout out 'YOOOOUUU!". But that's what teenagers want, the audience majority, because it's 'cool'. And seeing as you're very social as a teenager (school, clubbing, etc) word spreads like wildfire. And that's what labels are looking for - a quick buck.

Strange, you listen to Lil Wayne and I hate Lil Wayne, yet I don't make fun of you for listening to him, but you make fun of me for listening to ICP. I find that very ironic. But that's just my opinion.

You can't even put Lil Wayne and ICP in the same catagory, it's just not right that you guys are criticizing a portion of rap and hip-hop off two artists.

ninja edit: yes I did, i read your post wrong.

Didn't new school come from the fact that rap songs started sounding less like Disco? Production became influenced by other genres, and subject matter started changing too. I also remember seeing something said by Guru that he would never sellout. That was a few months ago right around when his new album came out. What does he think sellout means?

Inasane Clown Posse, and Lil Wayne both suck bleeding STD infested transvestite balls. To say that either of them are any good means that most people couldn't give a sh*t about what you say about music.

Harsh. Just because someone likes an artist you don't like doesn't mean that they have poor taste in music, it just means that they have different taste. What you like, is what you like.

Of course what you like, is what you like. But most people who visit this topic hate Lil Wayne and ICP.
