Anyone got any good reccomendations for some good underground that has like the same style as Atmosphere or Cunninlynguists? I don't know how to explain what I mean by same style, but am always loving the beats that are used; it's not always your typical hip-hop beats.

I think the stuff in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has the best rap in it. It's original, it's not new crap like today's sh*t. I also like Ice Cube, anything that's original. None of the Soulja Boy stuff.

I've had 'New Wu' on loop for almost 2 hours straight now. Methods voice in that chorus is hypnotic I swear. I love his flow.

I think the stuff in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has the best rap in it. It's original, it's not new crap like today's sh*t. I also like Ice Cube, anything that's original. None of the Soulja Boy stuff.

There's a reason why golden age is unf*ckwithable. About all of the good hip hop music comes from that period (I consider it to be from 1986-1994 or even 1996).

 

One thing I was wondering over, why R* didn't put any EPMD in Playback FM (pure golden age duo.) but then again they know what they are doing, maybe EPMD are too laid back in comparison to the rest of that station.

It's funny you mention that, cause I felt the same way when I was looking at the playlist for old school station in IV and I noticed there was no Biggie , I mean, it wouldn't hut to have Juicy or Gimme The Loot on the playlist, also they should have added some KRS One and Junoir Mafia too, which would be dope to have Notorious BIG, KRS One, Junoir Mafia and Gang Starr all on one station.

I would rather go with late 87-92 songs in The Classics rather than Junior MAFIA or whoever. Biggie could have been good to have but I always preferred the "San Andreas-period" hip hop more.

 

Playback FM is still along with Radio Los Santos the best hip hop station put together (from my view). Gang Starr, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Rakim, Public Enemy, Masta Ace, Brand Nubian all in one station, that's a dream!

 

EPMD or BDP (KRS) wouldn't been bad though.
