Really, does anyone even remember that song?

Dre's Momma Needs a Haircut? Does that ring any bells?

Try Luke. That freak has a song with this name.

Currently I'm into Nice & Smooth, but I can't find my favorite song from them on youtube so I'm putting something up that might be familiar to those who have listened to Playback FM on SA.

Luke is a disgrace and the 2 Live Crew are overrated. I only like "It's Your Birthday", other than that the only thing he & his crew had in their mind was sex. A few songs about it... ok, but 10 albums about the same thing, I don't know if I can take that. But they were funny controversially. Also that song I posted on the previous page by Tweedy killed him...

"Is Luke a man??? f*ck NO! He wish he could be!", haha that made me laugh, not from that song but another Luke diss.

But there's one thing about Luke I absolutely love, that's his show in VCS in Fresh 105... so much fun I had listening to that radio station while just driving around.

I know there was a Joe Budden and Method Man beef where other Wu members got involved, but I swear it was over. Anyway, apparently Joe and Raekwon were talking backstage and Raekwon's Entourage ran in and punched Joe up.

Yeah, I heard about that too; here is some video updates straight from Budden himself. I don't know what is revealed in them though as I haven't watch them myself yet: clicky!

Ha, Rapbasement yet to hear the news I see.... moto_whistle.gif

And just in case you missed it, Mixtape Messiah 7.

Just learned that Atmosphere is going to be having a concert here on Wednesday, a bit disappointing because if I heard about it earlier I might have had a chance to go, but it's a bit late now. He even has Eyedea & Abilities playing with him at this one, it's almost heartbreaking not being able to go.

Good news for Tupac fans out there:

Some of the legendary Tupac Shakur's earliest recorded material will hit stores next month in an album titled "Shakurspeare." Featuring music he recordeded over 20 years ago, the album is a collection of 2Pac vocals that were originally recorded on a cappella on a cassette over two decades ago (1988). Digitally mastered with production by several Baltimore producers, the album will also feature a cover with paintings showing Pac like William Shakesspeare.

"Shakuspeare," will be released on Born Busy Records, which holds Darrin Bastfield as their CEO. "I was there when Tupac heard himself for the first time rapping on a recording," Bastfield said in a statement. "As he sat in the cafeteria of the Baltimore School for the Arts it was as if he couldnt believe that he was listening to himself. Just as Tupac was quietly amazed by hearing himself, I want people to hear Tupac as a young artist in his very first recordings ever having fun, rapping about issues that concerned us, and most importantly giving a cautionary and timely 'Message of Peace' in his own voice as if he was already a big rap star with a reputation to uphold."

And also more development on the whole Raekwon and Budden situation: clicky!

UPDATE: Budden wants to square dance:

And Slaughterhouse album out tomorrow, can't wait. I might cop it tomorrow, and if not, on Thursday maybe (as long is it's out in the UK rolleyes.gif ). Heard nothing but good news about it.

You know me, Rap Tastic, Fantastic!??

I got this used Xbox HDD with some prior owner selections on it... Curiousity being what it is, I am not erasing things till I listen to them, and one of them happened to be Lil Jon, and his song "Bitch". What do you guys think of that tune?

I have to say, I like this type of Gangsta Rap because it is so over the top and pushing the FCC buttons lol.gif

I'm not gonna lie, Lil Jon gets me pumped. Get Low to this day is still one of the best tracks you can throw into a party mix.

I don't understand how Lil Jon is close to likable with his annoying repetitive lyrics. His songs may have good beats but he himself should just STFU and stick to producing. Every rapper I've heard with the name "Lil" in it is horrible.

Just some real classics here.

Scarface is something else. As the south has produced so many talentless clowns as we see nowadays, he was one of the original rappers and the real king of the south.

Along with UGK and OutKast, they seem like the only true southern rappers. 2pac and Biggie get to much credit as the best rappers ever while Scarface is as good if not better than them.

No love for Cham? Ultimate Victory was one of the best albums of '07, and he usually kills it on his guest spots. Stays consistent too.

EDIT: Smack myself for forgetting Cunninlynguists.

Never listened to Chamillionaire besides a couple of songs. But I can guess he's pretty good since I've read some reviewers in various sites giving his albums perfect ratings. (and the reviewers know their sh*t about hip hop and I've read their other reviews so that's not the "problem" whether they are reliable or not.)

Anyways, Goodie Mob are also good. Can't forget about Arrested Development. Ludacris is also good and he actually shows off in those sh*tty collective tracks for DJ Khaled, and other one hit wonders from Atlanta.

That might be about it apart from Outkast, UGK & the Geto Boys... and Cunninlynguists.

So... anyone here listened to Kool G Rap & DJ Polo's "Live and Let Die" album? If not, give it a chance right now. Classic album, the definition of the mafioso subgenre and crazy storytelling skills putting Kool G alongside Slick Rick as one of the best storytellers.

It's seems like in the 90's each region of the US, (The East Coast, West Coast, South and Midwest) had a rapper that represented them. IMO Tupac represented the West Coast, Biggie represented the East Coast, Esham represented the Midwest and Outkast represented the South. Although these are just my opinion.

Just picked up K'Naan's Troubadour and The Dusty Foot Philosopher, and they're f*cking great. Two of the best albums I've ever heard, especially Dusty Foot.

Yes, I love his new album. Will have to check out the older albums.

As for representations of the respective regions, listen to Binary Star's Masters of the Universe. THAT is some classic Midwest material, really makes me miss the '90s sound.

What you think about this one? Joe Pesci certainly has a good voice(not fully shown in this song)but his rap skills aren't that good.

My fave from Game FM. Heavy beat!

I like Violent. Sean P tries to get closer to conscious and you still hear funny lines coming out of his mouth like "I f*ck mothers"...

W. T. F? I've never heard an Italian wiseguy turned rapper... He has a pretty bad flow and sounds like a robot. Was this made as a joke?

Too many rappers have legendary skill for one to just represent each region. It just wouldn't be fair. Just look at this.

East:

KRS-One

Rakim

LL Cool J

West:

Ice Cube

Ice T

B-Real

South:

Scarface

Pimp C

Andre 3000

Midwest:

Eminem

Common

Royce da 5'9"

What does everyone think of Jay-Z after Reasonable Doubt? IMO RD was classic but all his other albums were nothing like RD and made him look like a sellout.
