Amidst all this hype/talk of Eminem's Relapse, I've just realised Busta Rhyme's Back on My B.S. is released on the same day (in the U.S. at least).

 

Methinks BOMBS might be overshadowed by Relapse on May 19th...

yeah, I was thinking about that a few days ago. Busta's been releasing singles all over the place and it's really been given no attention by any of the rap websites. Hell, the majorty of the news stories on 'Rapbasement' in the past week or 2 have mostly been Eminem related.

 

Shame really. Busta Rhymes is amazing, but Relapse will always take the spotlight

 

 

Am I the only one finding almost every single Chorus on Relapse really f*cking catchy? They're all just so whistle-to-able. Hello, Same Song And Dance, Underground, We Made You, Stay Wide Awake and Old Times sake being the main ones I keep whistling. But particularly 'Hello'

I just listened to "Kim" and "97' Bonnie and Clyde" in that order and damn, the lyrics is just too disgusting to think about.

 

Really, Eminem can sometimes sound crazy. As good lyrically he is, things like this are just sick.

I know it's a song and all but it is based on actual persons with their real names.

At least he could have turned it into a more fictional story with random names picked up.

 

I mean how insane can he be to make a song where he goes with his baby and dumps his wife's body into the water in front of the kid?

 

While it's a great story carried on from the first song to the second, it just has a brutal subject matter.

Relapse will be released in Australia on May 19, 2009.

After listening to some of the songs on the Eminem's new album, it kinda grew on me. I don't like it as much as I liked Marshall Mathers. Yet I don't like it enough to go out and buy it.

Deja Vu as well for me. I think most people are in agreement that those are the best songs on the album. I always skip to 'Mr Mathers' skit and lsiten from then on out when walking home from College, and let the rest of the album play out bobbing my head all the way.

MC Lyte is one of the best female emcees, or one of the best emcees in general. Seriously, listen to "10% Dis", that whole track is ridiculous. The chorus hits the hardest. "Beat biter, dope style taker, tell it to ya face, you ain't nothing but a faker."

 

Obviously some people on this forum like Lil' Wayne, I tend to have this love/hate relationship with his music and antics but does anyone think he has the ability to be called "Best of all time"? And did anyone happen to catch Vh1's "The Top 100 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs". I thought Vh1 really knew what the hell they were talking about, as far as hip-hop is concerned, with their shows and honoring some of hip-hop's greatest with Vh1 Hip-Hop Honors but even considering 50 Cent on the countdown and even being in the Top 20 for that matter is laughable to me.

I put all my hope into the Cuban Linx 2 album... heard the Blackout 2 on myspace today, had high expactiations as a huge Red & Mef fan... unfortunately, the probably were too high. Not an epic must buy...

 

The lyrics are dope, but the beats...

Not a single song that I liked from the start... "Dis is 4 all my smokers" was probably my favorite... I also miss a smashhit like "Rockwilder"... not going to talk it down too much now, maybe I just need to hear those songs more often and get used to... it ain't THAT bad... just not THAT good either.

Haha wait no, no. Nick Cannon is not trying to diss Em... Hell no. Although I didn't care much for this new cd Nick Cannon is horrible and doesnt have much of a career in anything.

@Ciabatta: Was that a new one that they did or that one from like a few years ago? Anyway Lil Wayne is just that type of guy. Either you love him or you hate his guts. Well it may not be that black and white, but you know what I mean. I think he could be included on that list, depending on how long that list is, but trying to figure out a list like that is impossible. People have different tastes and it's all relative. I mean I really don't feel Jay Z too much but everybody gets mad when I say it, music is too particular for lists. Everybody has their own opinion, just gotta let them have it.
