Crippled Leviathan ?

Whats the deal with the gimped up Leviathan helo you get at the abandoned runway safe house after you complete the mission "Up,Up and away" ?

 

What I mean is, the point of the "Up,Up and Away" mission is to parachute down into the military oil depot and steal the Leviathan Helo and use it to go pick up and transport the security cash truck you use to rob Caliguals Casino with.

 

In order to PICK UP the security truck, the leviathian has a extendable magnet that you lower down and attach it to the truck, ( just like the crane on the dock for the import/export mission).

 

However, when you complete the mission you land the Leviathan at the abandoned runway ( safe house), and then from then on you get a Leviathan spawned at the runway you can use.

 

HOWEVER, its GIMPED up and it no longer has the extendable magnet. !!!

 

Thats no fun, what the hell use is the helo to you then?..I mean the whole fun of using the sucker would be to go cruizin around and say, pick up a cop car and get the sucker swingin and let her fly..LMAO

 

Or maybe pick up a bus and let er drop on a group of unsuspecting peds...SQUASH !

 

Or maybe see if you can get that bus to balance on the very tip of the pyramid in Las Venturas....

 

Or maybe see how many vehicles you can stack on top of one another...

Yeah it sucks that they took the magnet off after the mission, maybe they done it becuase the magnet would of made the import/export board a lot easier if you could use the Levian's magnet, and then just take the vehicles a long distance without driving them.

Well, I for one completed the import/export mission LONG AGO....but yea I am sure it would make that mission much easier for sure.

 

But the way I see it, if you have gotten as far as you have in the storyline, and EARNED the leviathian, then it would and SHOULD be a benefit of your hard work thus far to then make the import/export mission easier..no ? suicidal.gif

I think people have gotten it before with a cheat device, but they have said that it is not that good as it cannot lify very many vehicles, only light ones, but the vehicle on that mission was an exception, it looks heavier than it is.

 

You could always try putting it in your hanger and letting the door close then killing yourself to fail the mission, and you should be able to keep it!

I appreciate the feedback and heads up TNT, however that mod looks like a half assed crackhead version...lol ( No offence intended to the mod dev )

 

"When you get out of a chinook, a red arrow will appear above the chopper. If you drive a car into the middle and press handbreak, it will lock into place. You can tell its locked when you cannot drive forward or reverse anymore, hold break going forward and reverse, it will snap in eventually

 

To release your car, hold down the horn button and back out.

 

If the heli front end goes vertical, the car inside will detach and damage you. This mod gives a lot of leeway, but its not 100% perfect, because of how the game works.

 

The helicopter will now lose all references (meaning it becomes a normal car) after 2 minutes after you exit the chopper. Attaching a car, detaching a car, or getting out of the chinook will reset the timer again. This was done to save memory, assuming if you drive away for a very long time youre done for now.

 

A red arrow will appear above the heli to let you know when you can attach/detach. If you do not see it, then you must reboard the chinook and get out again to reset the timer."

 

Just seems like alot of work to be able to pick up a car, not to mention that when this mod is active you can no longer use the firetruck functions...lol

Update,

 

After further review..I noticed the part that looked like the crackhead way of having to attach a car, was not the magnet mod, it was Darkpact....

 

After FULLY reading the forum post I found the link to the authors HOMEPAGE which lists a mod for the magnet...HERE.
