Over-Kill
Okey, first off. Hello! I'm new here! I found a mod to convert Vercetti into SA. A good mod, if I might add. It told to replace the DFF and TXD files in player.img. So I got IMG Tool 2.0 and started doing something. Of course I did everything wrong, what did you think? This is what I did. *Opened IMG Tool 2.0 *Opened Player.Img *Pressed the add button and added the needed files. *After all that, rebuilt archive. Could someone tell me how to do it actually. Thanx, Over-Kill PS. Maybe I'll post the mod link later, when I find it. Some guy Teun. What'sHisName made it. Edit: The Page Page 4. Where Teun.SekkenPecker writes that Get your Vercetti here! Okey, hope you can help. Regards, Over-Kill Edit: Sorry It's Page 3 Edited March 10, 2007 by Over-Kill Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/269087-img-tool-20/ Share on other sites
Deuce Deuce
You'll be referring to teun.steenbekkers, I presume. As for your slight "problem", you're not meant to just add the needed files in order for the mod to work; you have to either delete both original txd and dff files, then add the new files - or right click on the original files and replace them with the downloaded ones. Over-Kill
Yea Steenbekker. Okey, I've read your reply. But I don't know which are the original ones. How can I find out, maybe I delete the wrong ones. Deuce Deuce
Well, if you deleted the wrong ones and didn't back them up, then I'm afraid your only alternative will be to reinstall San Andreas and start again. Do a search in IMG Tool for the original files (they'd be called the same name as the two files you downloaded, only with .txd and .dff as the filetype), if you find both, then try replacing them with the ones you downloaded. If you're still having trouble, then if I were you I'd reinstall and remember to delete the original files before adding the new ones in. Just for the record, there will be some sort of error if you try messing with the game's files if there is already an instance of the game in use on your computer. Over-Kill
I haven't deleted anything. Just I'm afraid to screw up. By-the-way I have back-ups. Okey, I'll try something. Deuce Deuce
Oh, I see what you meant in your previous post. If you don't want to delete anything, then as I said, just find the original ones and replace them with the ones you downloaded. If that doesn't work, then you can always revert back to the original ones, no? Over-Kill
Yea, I can. But Teun didn't tell what files needed to be replaced. Edit: Oh, I got the point. I need to replace Player.Img files with the files I downloaded. I got files with the same name. Do I have to replace them one by one or is there an easier and a faster way, because there are like million of those files. Deuce Deuce
Those familiar to modding don't need an explanation as to what they should do with the files they downloaded, know which programs to use for different mods, etc. Oh and you have to do one by one, I'm afraid. Also, since I can't be bothered to download the mod, how many files are there, exactly? Over-Kill
About 65. And some files don't have the exact same named file in the player.img. Example the hawaian shirt, which comes with the Mod. Should I contact Teun? Deuce Deuce
Yeah, I'd contact steun if I were you. I'm a bit rusty when it comes to GTA modding since I left that area for a while. The mod did state to download all of it (Clothes 1 & 2, Haircuts V.02, and Bugfixes 1 & 2). But, I can't really help you any further. Sorry. Good luck though. Over-Kill
I got them all. Guess I'll better start to replace them one by one tomorrow or contact Teun. For now, I'm off. Cya. Over-Kill
I got it working. The face looked awful. I found the solution. Teun's model didn't support Cesar and Goatee. So I got regular cesar. Here are some pictures! Here is the correct one! Thnx Teun.SteenBekker, very great job. Deuce Deuce
Nice, glad you got it working. So, how did you do it? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/269087-img-tool-20/#findComment-4089151 Share on other sites
Over-Kill
Well, I haven't quite tested it fully. Well I replaced the original files with the downloaded files. Some names were altered a little bit. Some didn't have files to replace, so I just added them in the list. Like I said, haven't tested it fully. It doesn't support some haircuts and clothes. So far, it doesn't support the black jacket nor the cesar & goatee. CCJ
There musn't be 2 or more identical copies of each dff or txd. Only replacing them works, like all the others said. There isn't such thing as double the files, double the size. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/269087-img-tool-20/#findComment-4107114 Share on other sites
