Brady guide: VCS PS2 worst one ever

Recommended Posts

I just can't believe this. Sure, I remember the SA guide that had the pages wrong (photos) but that was more understandable. It hadn't been on the market for another platform for six months.

I'm now most of the way through the rampages. At least most of them are where the guide says--but at least 2/3 have the wrong weapon listed. Incredible. Since I paid more than $1 for this guide, I spent money badly. I'm forgiving of minor stuff, but this is pretty major: I can't take the guide at face value. And this is early in the game--gods know how much worse this may get.

This is shoddy.

I'm working on updating my VCS guide to include the PS2 version, I'll have the first "update" when I finish the first "chapter". The weird thing is that I can't seem to locate the rampage found at the top of the flight of stairs, Downtown and East of Ammu-Nation near where the Comet is parked...

The same one I cannot find. The same one the Brady guide thinks is in the next lot over with the Infernus, if I am not mistaken.

I agree. I emailed the company pointing out every mistake that I have found in the guide, then demanded my money back. I still haven't heard from them. LOL

I think the problem with the guide and most that are up on the net is that they were specifically designed for the PSP version. Yes the PS2 version was meant to be a straight port but as many members have been discovering it does have new things that were not in the PSP version or items/objects/rampages/etc that are in different places or have been added to this version.

Maybe in a few months time once everyone has had a chance to play it thoroughly will dependable maps and items lists be released.

This is true, plus I think that they get earlier versions of the game, some months before its actual release, so Rockstar might implement some changes that affect how the guide was written. Sometimes it's not their fault. confused.gif

Cmon Man VCS is fixed in the PS2 Version i dont see any glitches like the PSP

I wouldn't be too sure about that. I've got a number of them in my PS2 version that was in my PSP one.

-The upside down world attacked me when I was swimming a few hours ago.

-The "NPC's disappear" occured the second day I got it.

-Other minor but still annoying things in VCS PSP

Don't get me wrong, I love this thing as a GTA and a game, but I wanted to point out a few things. The things I listed above only have happened once so far, so it's no big deal to me, though I wish Rockstar would have been eagle eyed in their glitch purge.

Well, ths far the Brady Guide Screwup List includes:

Missing a rampage in Little Havana

Rampage completely misplaced in downtown

Most rampages mis-described as to weapon and requirements

Several unique jumps' numbers on map do not match description

They may well have been working with an early copy, but that doesn't make the guide any less shoddy. No one forces them to publish it before seeing the release version; they choose to, or at the very least they sign a contract choosing to. But I don't think you can blame the mismatched jump numbers on prerelease. That's just a lousy job of checking their work.
