SaintJimmy
Ok, has anyone here watched GTA2 : The movie? You know, the trailer that appears at the beginning of GTA2? Well listen...nobody knows where the game is set, correct? But in the trailer, if you watch, it's right in front of your eyes! Ok, i'm not sure what time, but it is when Claude is driving and a cop car starts chasing him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What does it say on the cop car? ZOMG...it says NY PD!! Err, last time i checked, THAT stands for "New York Police Department". If you think it stands for something else, then explain why the design of the car is the exact same as the New York cop car... If you think maybe its for the movie, and it's inaccurate, then why is everything else SOO accurate? eg., the gangs? Like Zaibatsu etc etc. I think I have stumbled upon something big... Oh, you know what that means? This means that it is the SECOND game set in a real city... What I thought, would be that "Why would GTAIV be set in a real city? Rockstar wouldn't do that..." But now...after TWO games have been released... I'm starring to think... "...but would they?" Thankyou, thankyou, I'm here all night. Forelli_Boy
Maybe because they were trying to show people that it was a movie for (not based on) GTA2 and not just an ordinary "silent" gangster flick, so they needed a few visual cues to show where it was? Where in New York City are you going to find "Mad Island" anyway? Roosevelt doesn't count. mibars
NY PD!!Err, last time i checked, THAT stands for "New York Police Department". Oh, rly?!? I thought that it is "Nakatu Yakuza Pleasure Dome"... If you think it stands for something else, then explain why the design of the car is the exact same as the New York cop car. Maybe because 90% cop cars in USA are Ford Crown Victorias, like this one? And painted in similar manner? eg., the gangs? Like Zaibatsu Zaibatsu operates in Japan... And, for your information, New York is in The U.S. and A., not in Japan. Did you know... The World Trade Center towers, that are clearly seen in this short movie were in 1999 standing in New York? Yes, that may be suprising for you, but it's true, believe me. D'oh! mibars
Eeeyy... You have never noticed it before? I thought that this is SO OBVIOUS, that I changed it into joke So let make things clear: -GTA2 MOVIE was shot in New York -(shortened version is acting as an intro, screens from it are used as images in menu, setup screen, gta2 manager and so on) -GTA2 GAME takes place in fictional city. (where in New York you have RV park, or Alcatraz-style prison on Island?). BUT, go back to GTA1 - Here Liberty City is clearly based on New York - look on a map of Manhattan, and GTA1's Liberty City.
