Problem running GTA2

Recommended Posts

DudeMaster3

Hi, I've downloaded free GTA2 from Rockstar and installed it. But if I try to run GTA2 Manager or GTA2 I get an error message:

Expected VXD version V1.3, got V1.2

My computer specifications:

- Celeron 766Mhz

- Win 98SE

- 192Mb RAM

- 3 monitors, 3 graphic adapters + 1 3Dfx accelerator:

- MX86251+3Dfx Voodoo Rush (4mb)

- S3 Trio64V+ PCI (2Mb) + 3Dfx voodoo accelerator

- Matrox MY220P MGA (4Mb)

Can someone please tell me where is the problem? Can it be caused by using so many graphic adapters? thx

That is an unsual setup, so i'm not surprised that it gives errors. Try disabling or removing some of the video cards and see what happens. The error suggestions that a .vxd file is the wrong version but without a filename, it will be difficult to find an update.

I'm back again with other problem smile.gif

Now I'm using the almost the same hardware configuration, but without S3 Trio64V+ PCI and with 512Mib of RAM on win XP SP3.

gta2 manager says that "No suitable graphics cards could be found". I've tried using onlys one monitor on one card, installed the newest drivers, but nothing helped ...

2 FulValBot: win98se DOES support up to 4 monitors!
