[WIP|SCR] Liberty City - Twenty Ten

Sometime around 2009 a huge civil wore broke out in America, assassinations and killings were common. One of the worst hit places was Liberty City were any one in a position of power was killed, leaving the city without a leader.

All police and army units were wither destroyed or assimilated into the civil groups.

Basic features:

There are few cars left and the only cars left in Liberty are damaged, rusted a quite ancient looking. Driving is a privilege.

Much more ground combat than GTA3, tactics other than drivebys have to be used for effective survival.

All weapons are being made with more detail

The civilians that are left have a small aresonal of weapons left from the army but only the basic weapons really (bats, pistols, uzis, sometimes ak's and grenades.)

Liberty underwent several changes before its downfall in 2009, be on the look out for different areas, but you will also be seeing alot more ruined and leveled buildings around. Car bodies litter the streets.

There hasn't been power in Liberty for a long time, the nights are dark.

The gates to Liberty stadium have been broken open, enjoy.

all civilians should be treated with extreme caution.

Gangs have taken over parts of the city and in some places even changed the names.

There is no more law in Liberty City, but don't think that this will make surviving any easier.

Later plans:

Ill probably release this with no knew missions so you can only play through the origional missions, if support grows, replacment missions may happen.

Ill need a coder later in development to help me with a couple things (limit peds/cars on streets and assign weapons to pedestrians) If you can do this now, please raise your hand.

I probably wont be converting this to the Liberty City mod for Vice City anytime soon, too much work has already been done with gta3.

This will probably be released before the end of the year.

make something whit the tunnel near the dam. a army base or something (nuclear bunker)

why are the cars so ridiculously rusted? last time i checked, cars had something called paint, and are made out of something called galvanized steel, whatever that is. given that the title implies a setting of 2010, i seriously doubt they can gain 50 years worth of rot in one year.

I have a future project idea in the works, but will be starting after SOL, that JP jeep would be perfect for the mod theme I have in mind.

for this mod it will be cool adding some creatures, madded in a secret laboratory.

try to do something cooler whit the stadium ... it is to simple add something like a secret base of the refugees (a big cannon, tanks that can't be moved, machineguns, tents, etc. ) . and for the car, add normal paint whit scratches. a car rusted like that can't be drivable. and the name Liberty city isn't good if you say it was a revolution or civil war.

i have in my mind a cool tc for vice city . where can i pot my idea ?

@raresh_r: yep, destroyed and half destroyed, making for some cool playgrounds and some interesting hidden package spots

@richard the pissed: yeah that was of concern to me too. Mabye Twenty twenty would be a new good name? or twenty ten being the date that the government collapsed?

@raresh_r2: hmm... that gives me an idea, I may set up a camp of gypsys or refugees inside the stadium With breakable caravans

Nice job, it was lame that the Jurassic Park HL2 mod was stopped. I hope you can share that as Buggy replacement for it.

The GTA3 cars look nice, much better damaged, but I'd like to see this in GTA:LC, even more quality...

OnePiece i would help you whit the mod... but i don't have gta3. if you use the gta LC mod for vc (have permission first) i would make some cool stuff around the city. you can use the liberty statue , just half of it like it was destroyed by some rockets ...and some cars like in Mad Max the movie.

about the police.. make some soldiers like in HL2 and the wanted stars some cranium and bones, like they are after you, not the police, freedom fighters.

yeah... too much info and work to do

Woo Ive added a new half destroyed building! I went through hell to get the col to work properly, but it worked in the end

Since darkel was left in the files you could restore him(A. place him over another ped, B. Make him use one of the unused ped ID's(if they work))and give him a new name and story I think he looks the part don't you.

P.S. I am learning mission coding so once I figure a few more thing's out(How to control a randomly spawned ped through the Main.scm)I could try to help but for now you would be better off finding someone else.

LOVE the idea. I had a similar one just like it except it was Vice City, and it was about 2030, a new president puts laws into place which anger citizens. Eventually they revolt and you're caught in that revolt, and have to fight to find and kill the president.

I don't have GTA3 anymore, but good luck. I might get GTA3 if this turns out to be as good as it sounds

wow this is gonna be a fun mod only thing is you could and put some broken walls in it and darken the building a little,resembling ash from the mortar or the missile or whatever.

you got a definite download from me. but im excited in how the people will behave. maybe 28 days later like would be cool. lol

Replaced the SSV hospital, and made all the peds alot more aggressive.

Even can take a bunch of models no broken machines, and others of the manhunt, initially, I would send a carcer city but not a) There is a freedom fighters it is not nice to, but the style of the destroyed city in a good)

Yeah, Im really aiming for something that looks like a city in freedom fighters, but seeing as there arnt really any tools for that game, I wont be using any of its content

UPDATE!

Ive made four new radio station, plus remade all of the weapons and theyre HUD icons (with the help of ergeben) plus a load of other stuff. Ill post the radio song list once its all finalized and ingame.
