gillies
20 percent is the usual amount, whatever it is in this case you can do it in about 15 minutes of flying a Shamal if you hold down accelerate the whole time. Seddo
You can only get your pilots license, when you have advanced through the game quite a bit and you get to the desert area of San Andreas and start doing missions for Toreno, later on he will tell you to buy the abandoned airfield, once purchased, the pilot school will be availibe. Edit: @ gillies, so you can gte the pilot license even before doing pilot school. i never new that. gillies
There is a risk that the taxi driver mission will stop working but if you do it first or don't plan to do it at all then it doesn't matter. The only difference it makes is the airport gates open, the aeroplanes that are locked stay locked until you finish the flying school. Mister Zero
Yeah, I climbed over the fence and helped myself to a Dodo, flew around for about an hour trying to raise my flying skill and by the time I returned, it was open to me. Shamal's ftw. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/268874-pilots-license/#findComment-4083745 Share on other sites
Mixolydian
For extra license-free piloting fun, there's also the cropduster in San Fierro with nothing keeping you out of it. It's amazing how quickly that plane gets off of the ground. Using this plane is a good way to get into the Easter Bay Airport, before getting a license, so that you can grab the guided rocket launcher. I usually just use the tunnel underneath its spawn location for jumping into the Airport after landing on a hanger. Mixolydian
Well sure, you can jump into the airport, but if you're trying to get a pilot license early, then flying the crop duster will help you work toward that goal. gillies
There is a point near the tunnel under "The Farm" on the south side of the San Fierro airport that is a very easy jump into the airport, it is a lot easier than that huge unique jump from Red County. But it is very easy to get into any airport, as long as your CJ isn't too overweight. Taking a few steps back then running and jumping towards the airport security guard post at the gate will let you grab the ledge above it and climb up into the airport grounds, if you park a vehicle right next to the gate before doing that you can go back towards the gate and it will open, if your vehicle was close enough you can get in and drive back through the gate without it closing. Todd, I also remember reports from others about the "Mike Toreno" mission being affected too by this. Something about the yellow marker outside of the airport not appearing, if I recall that correctly.
