The Best Way to Get To The Beach Island Early..

Recommended Posts

Assuming they haven't relocated any invisible walls near the bridge, try the "taxi jump" that people used in the PSP version.

Here is the taxi jump video I uploaded back when this was still relatively new info:

http://www.myimage.us/view_image/f9e9e026/...landviataxi.gif

I used that repeatedly before opening the east island. Just be careful about nabbing too many empires over there without unlocking the island legitimately first, or you can get yourself stuck in a position where you can't get all the empire types.

That's exactly what I was trying to jump over to get to the other island, but everything I tried failed. It would make sense that the taxi jump trick would work!

I think I actually used that trick in Vice City a long time ago to jump over the gate at the dock where Cortez's yacht was before the other side of the island opened up.

Or you could do it this way tounge.gif

Stunter's way to Beach Island

thats how i do it .. although ive never landed on the bike ..

i do a controlled crash into the wall and end up face planting onto the bridge ..

although i AM trying to do the bump .. i suck at it pretty bad... but i can get over there

Thanks for posting that. I'll give that a try my self. biggrin.gif

Edit--- I just got done trying this ten times in a row....and it doesn't work at all. I have the Never fall off bike code on and it still doesn't work. Everytime I hit that corner of the tree is slows me down and pushes me into the water. What the f*ck is the deal? There must be a code that makes it so when you run into trees it doesn't slow you down or somthing....because that video doesn't help at all. I'm good at turning the bike but in the video it doesn't show him move at all...it only shows him moving the biek in the air. That doesn't help me solve the tree problem. I tried useing the tree to bump me over but it's useless. It's like I'm in slow motion when I hit it. >_>

I can see him turn the bike to the left just a little bit when he hits the tree, but I do that and I go right into the water. I don't get anywhere near the bridge at all. <_<

And another thing, it seems to increase his speed too when he hits it. How the hell does he get so much air? I don't get any at all. :I

Hehe, sorry that I didn't explain what it was that I did, I just assumed everyone knew. What I did with that tree was a BSM (Bike Stuck Method). I made another video that shows how to set it up. And it also shows another place to try it, you might be lucky enough get the second place I show, if you try hard enough.

And there are no cheats involved in this... no "never fall of the bike" thing or whatever, I dont even know if there is such a mod for PS2.

Oh wow thanks. I'll try this somewhere else to be safe, I'll try it away from water. XD I don't like almost drowning everytime I get thrown into the water. Thanks again.

*sigh*........I just tried that, I first tried it at the "try out Bridge" and pulled it off.....but then I try actually doing it at the tree....and all he does is fall into the water......I can't ever do it. It's impossible for me to do it. I have to drive all the way back to the first island then all the way back again just to keep trying to do it. It takes me five minutes to set up the bike all together in front of the tree. But I do pull it off, I do get the bike laying down perfectly in position for the jump. But I lean left a little and junk but he doesn't get anywhere near the top of the bridge at all. I only get thrown to the water again...I just get alot of height when doing it. But I don't know what the hell you did to do it. I can't do it. I've tried about five times fully at the tree and....all he does is fall into the water over and over. Do you pull up or lean a strange way? Or what? The videos don't help anymore. I would kind of need detail on how to turn or what. Do I hit the bike and the tree? or what? I think if I did that I would go into the water. I try to aim towards the bridge but he just turns in the air and goes right into the water. ;_:

OK I made it!..........but barely. I didn't get as much height as you did but I made it into and landed on the other side of the bridge but on the crosswalk not the street. But I made it...I bet anything if I tried it again I won't make it next time. My luck sucks.....lol

just hit the bike, the tree is only needed to get the bike stuck.....when you are really close to the bike you are gonna hit try and pull a wheelie.

You might wanna look at this.

It's a Vice City bump tutorial, but I believe the same applies to VCS. smile.gif

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. Thanks again. Because it's still a fun thing to do evan though I can't do it all the time and get pissed off it still gives me somthing extra to use as a lift to stunting in it. We can use this trick to do like missions of things.

Getting frustrated looking for the sniper rifle on Starfish Island, i decided to try and jump onto the bridge and to my dilbelief, i managed to do a face plant on it on the first try mercie_blink.gif

Now, i'll go look for the Scope sniper rifle rah.gif and shoot some more balloooooons die.gifmercie_blink.gif

Yea, i found the scope sniper rifle on the Police station's rooftop, accessible by stairs and the Police Maverick's there too icon14.gif

BTW, can some1 pls show me where is a safehouse on second island? cookie.gif

The safehouse on that island isn't open yet, though if you take over a business you can save there (assuming you have empire building unlocked). Otherwise, steal the police chopper, fly back to the west island, save, hop back in the chopper and fly back to the east island. When flying the chopper, DON'T fly over the bridges or you'll hit the invisible walls the block the bridges and damage the chopper.

Sure, i know about the Police Chopper, but no matter how near or how far i park it from the Safehouse, after i save.......it's gone cryani.gifangry.gif frikkin glitch or what?

But anyways, i find it very easy to jump across with a Sanchez, cause it's made for cross jumping icon14.gif i did it 3 times in a row, bike and all icon14.gif

To all trying to jump across, use a Sanchez, not a PCJ rah.gif

An easy way to get to the other island early is to load a save from the east island, start a mission and as soon as control returns to you, get wasted or busted and when you re-spawn at the hospital or police station (whichever method you did), a cabbie will spawn. Get in and it will take you to your last mission spot which will be the east island. This worked in Vice City and it works in VCS. I confirmed this just now on the PS2 version when I was playing off a save from where I was on the east island and just attempted a mission for the movie studio and got bored, loaded a save from where all i had done was the first 2 missions done, I got busted and when i re-spawned, a cabbie was there. I hopped in and it took me to the movie studio on prawn island. Hope this helps.

Edit: I got now what you meant smile.gif So this seems like a glitch alright. Will try it myself.

Lancet Jades (Johnny) recently shared some tricks on how to get to the 2nd island (PS2), all of which I think are new. Here are portions of his email to me:

1. Get the hydraulics for Taxis, then jump a Cabbie or Taxi  between the east bridge off Starfish Island and the lone tree south of it (on Diaz's property). Jump parallel to the bridge, and bail out. If you're lucky, the game should semi-glitch, and you'll end up in the ped walkway of the bridge. Then just walk to the 2nd island. A very hit or miss method, but

works.

2. Get a Yankee and back it up to that spot (between the tree and the bridge). Try to get the right-hand wheels right next to the bridge structure. When you get out, it'll sort of glitch and tilt, with the right side pointing up. Get on top of it, and do a running jump. The altitude this tilt gives you is sufficient to barely jump over the invisilbe wall that stretches up. The tilt is critical. Without it, you just can't make it. Again, hit or miss, because getting the Yankee backed up far enough, and with the tilt, without it falling off the land mass, is difficult.

With 1 and 2, there's a way to rescue yourself if you fail and fall in the water. If it's raining in the game, the swells of the ocean are enough to give you enough height to jump up on the land to the north of the bridge, but ONLY if its stormy. Calm waters make it a graveyard. The alternative is to swim southwest. The border of Diaz's propety has lots of right angles, with a sloped stone wall leading down to the ocean. Go to the southern-most eastern corner, and you'll find one part of the wall that you can actually run up. Doing this, you can often find another Taxi or Yankee on the streets of Starfish, allowing for another attempt rather quickly. If you need more stamina, just try and climb any other portion of the stone wall. You'll run along it (but not up), which isn't much, but allows you to recover stamina, enough to make it the rest of the way.

3. This resembles LCS' trick, but infinitely less bothersome, and much easier. Know that dirt mound with a police bribe at the top pointing west, near Escobar's main terminal building (it's a bit southwest of it)? Beyond that mound, there's a pipe in the ground. The trick is to jump on the pipe from the top of the mound. Sometimes, when you do this, it teleports you into Leaf Links, which allows access to the east island. This is even more hit or miss than 1 and 2, but the recoil time for a failed attempt is about 2-3 seconds, making it the easiest and most time-effective means of access.

#3 is particularly interesting. Sounds easy and less hassle.

Mister Zero

I can confirm three works, though for a second, I thought I'd got the wrong pipe. I jumped and sort of went into a stoppie as I landed. Vic did the animation you'd see if you were about to fall off and I sank in the pipe and dropped about a couple metres down onto Leaf Links. Bit of a mouthful I know, but there's confirmation.

Well that's cool then. At least that should save us the trouble and headache jumping over that damn barrier.

Thanks for the confirmation Mister Zero icon14.gif

On another note, I tested radioman's reco method but so far haven't worked yet.

bitsandpieces

Go to Starfish Island, in the back of the nearest mansion to the left of the bridge and use a Sanchez. Start your run near the pool and do a wheelie just before you hit the barrier to the left of the largest palm tree.

Good luck die.gifmercie_blink.gif

I also can cofirm that this method works and you dont have to have a vehicle, just jump down on the pipe and you will slide off and the screen shakes a bit and POOF the "welcome to Vice City" postcard appears and you are now on Leaf Links. This trick will take some health away but not much.

Thanks for the screenies Win98crash. They can sure help a lot those that need visuals on the location.

That method indeed works like magic. It's more failproof than the other methods known so far. It even works more consistently than the LCS trick. In LCS, sometimes you can attempt for hours and not have the teleport work. But in VCS, it doesn't fail.

I can't seem to do the pipe trick...but why can't people just do the damn missions?...

Some people, like myself, like to get all the hidden packages and rampages and unique jumps out of the way early to create a good "beginning" save, so when they start a new game next time they will not have to do all of this all over again.

On-topic: The trick works where you transport to the leaf links, I tried it twice and it worked both times. Good find on whoever discovered it.
